way too funny!
after years of chasing all the newer heli's and electronics I finally said screw it and went back to a basic machines again.
flying a cheap stock mini titan and a raptor 50 titan with a basic gy520,gv1,some cheaper servo's and old school 4.8 rx battery pack.
I am having fun again and not chasing the latest and greatest new products out there.
ysrrider,i would just keep flying the piss out of them and have fun!

People can buy a BNF Trex 700N for $150.00-$200.00
I would like to see where you can buy them for that, post a link where this is possible.I'll bet you are talking out your ass.
Learned how to read before trying to be funny, you'll see I said $150-$200 MORE than what hes asking..I'll quote the whole line for ya as you don't know how to do that either ..
People can buy a BNF Trex 700N for $150.00-$200.00 more than what your asking for the Freya which is $600.00..

Regardless of what you are selling, the item(s) are only worth what the market dictates. It does not matter what you paid, what you think they are worth, if you think they are old or not. What matters is what other people are willing to pay for it.Compass 7HV, Trex 550E

I have spent enough time trying to get a fair price or trade for my 50 and 70 and I'm not gonna give them away for $50 so I'm going to film them going through a wood chipper.
YSRRider,

I wish I had that kind of money to throw away.
So instead of getting at least some money for them, and letting someone else enjoy them, you're going to destroy them and get nothing just so no one else can have them?

I don't know you, and you could just be a really cool person, but I'm sorry, I feel this thread makes you look like a douchebag.

I am trying to sell my 05 Honda racing 4-wheeler that I spent about $22000 on. Now it is only worth about $5000-6000. It sucks but there is nothing you can do about it.

++1 Thatlumox....

YSRRider...how old is the computer you're typing on at this moment? How about the car in your driveway? Home theatre, big screen tv...the list goes on and on. Things happen on a daily basis that affect the value of the assets we own...much of it can be chalked up to the evolution of the technology in the product and the equipment used to produce them. The electronIcs we buy today are outdated when we buy them; the new tech Is already rollIng out the day we swIpe our cards. That's not to say our stuff Isn't any good any longer, It's just not cuttIng edge "new tech". I''ve read a lot of your posts on here...you're seem to be a pretty intelligent guy, so nothing anyone has stated on here is anything you don't already know. So what's the point of the thread other than a pity party for a guy who's remorseful about the amount of money he's spent on the hobby? If throwing a couple of good heli's into a woodchipper is your idea of satisfaction...then I guess this wasn't the right hobby for you, and we wish you luck on your future frustrations...

Try guns next time, they hold their value a little better...

Very interesting thread past two pages. A big + 1 to Bladestrikes On everything written. As far as the whole selling of product x, I look at it this way. When i buy a heli I never think of resale value. I just want to wear the son of a bitch out and hope i get my moneys worth. If i have, all is well. If i dont, I sell stuff off cheap just to be rid of it and move on to what has caught my eye next. I dont mind potential lost dollars. It is what it is. I say, if what you have no longer brings you enjoyment. Sell it off cheap and Put those few dollars to what does.Eye in the sky,

If I had nothing to fly and was looking for a nitro heli, I would find myself a used Fury with decent servos and gyro before I spent $150-$200 more on a POS new Align. Just because they are cheap and are cheap to fix does not make it a good product.

Align is NOT the cause of all helicopter evil, nor the reason the OP's equipment does not garnish the prices he wants. His items are "no longer state of the art" and have been surpassed by newer, better, faster replacements.

I understand his frustration, but his rationale for blaming "cheap" Chinese products for driving down the costs of his items is not realistic. His items were very good when they were the new and greatest. But now they are not new, they are several generations old. Does not mean they do not work great and does not mean that they are not any less good then they were when originally purchased. What it does mean is that they no longer command the highest price and the resale market dictates their value, not HK generic servos. Today's top of the line JR servo will be worth bubkiss in 5 years, compared to the newest JR servo, forget HK.

To blame Align (which is a great value and inexpensive - not cheap)for these facts is ridiculous. Let him take his ball and go home if he doesn't want to face the facts.

As other's have said, the market dictates the value.

The statement you made is not accurate at all:
People still flying raptors and Freyas will agree that the Freya especially is a machine that can keep up with all the latest helis.
I used to be on the Hirobo Team and while the Freya had its place in time, it was surpassed quickly with the evolution of the newer, lighter generation of helicopters designed around the 90 size engines. The fact was I simply couldn't do certain maneuvers with the Freya that I could with the Robbe/Dyna-X that I had before it or the Synergy N9 after it. It was and to some extent still would be a good middle of the road machine, but middle of the road machines today are far more capable than the Freya. Same goes for the Raptor V2.

Well, cuz my stuff isnt worth anything so Im just going to keep it. Does anyone have a running OS 90/w pipe to donate? I need a 90 for this Freya. I will even continue the charity and give my MINT OS 70 with Hatori SB70 to someone. Only 4 gallons through it and has fresh bearings. NTN's, none of that chinese junk that the .com guys are selling.

I'll even donate my Raptor to a noob if someone donates me another 90. Raptor 90 or one of those worthless Fury 90's. I'd be more than happy to have a used Fury..........
