I'm not looking at it as gold, I'm looking at it as they are still on the market, its not a discontinued product.

My frustration will always go back to all this Chinese/Korean crap thats flooding the market. It surely is driving the prices down for everything!

$30 for a GV1? really? Rule of thumb in this hobby was that a good used product was worth 50%. A GV1 is $160 new. Why even buy a quality product if it has no value?

Anyone have a used Futaba 18MZ for sale? I'll give you $200 or go buy a new top of the line Walkera system. Market sets the prices!

For about $100.00 more over the GV-1 you can buy Futabas new FBL system that has everything built into it.The CGY750 has Gov,tail gyro,RX and FBL all in one unit.
Sorry but that stuff is out dated and was top of the line YEARS ago..
Guy right now has a brand new set of Futaba S9252's in the sale section and can't give them away.I have a brand new Futaba S9252 and S9254 <---Can't even off them ..Stuff is out dated and you can buy way better electronics at a much cheaper price along with helis ...
Not being mean by saying this --->Your not going to get top dollar for that stuff like you would of 5 years ago,not going to happen unless you find that "1" person out of thousands that wants it ..
BNF 700N with MUCH better electronics go for $750.00 ish
BNF 600N with MUCH better electronics go for $550.00 ish

Part them out and hope for the best, donate them or leave the ad up and hope someone comes along...Im not saying anything is wrong with your helis or equipment, its just old...
Why even buy a quality product if it has no value?
When that quality product is old and out dated, its worth nothing to people anymore..Sad but true..

I hear you on the gyro. makes sense.

Yeah, why would anyone want some nice 9252's when you can get some Hobby King junk for a fraction or some Align servos for $10 each that do the same thing until they **** up.

I was talking to a guy on the phone last week that responded to an add I had on RCU, the guy was bragging and bragging and bragging about his $6.50 Spektrum clone Hobby King Rx's. How can anyone compete with that? I see so many posts on here about what junk there stuff is and people keep buying it. So I need to switch sides to make sure I dont completely loose my @$$ in this hobby?

If anyone has a nice Futaba 750 for sale I'll give ya $60 for it. Its used so thats all its worth.

To be honest with you I think the Align DS610s are better than the Futaba 9252's and I know many people that switched to Align servos.I agree with ya about the hobby king servos but not the Align servos..
But that has nothing to do with selling stuff..It comes down to 5+ year old electronics vs what we have now .People aren't going to pay top dollar for something when they can get the same brand thats up to date.
Futaba has BLS servos that aren't that far off in price, you can get a set for $160.00 or so.I bought my Futaba BLS254 tail servo for $60.00 bucks. All the newer updated electronics are way better, close to the same cost and even cheaper sometimes.Even the helis are..
Ive sold ALOT of top of the line/quality stuff from 5+ years ago and alot was brand new or close to it..You have to off this stuff to get rid of it or plan on sitting on it for a long time and hope it sales.
Sold a brand new OS 50 Hyper for $110.00 and got $90.00 for myself after shipping and PP fees.People were getting $150-$170 for them a few years ago USED..
Just sold a brand new Futaba S9245 for $50.00 bucks. They would sale left and right used for $80.00 a few years ago but not anymore.
Im still sitting on a brand new Futaba S9252..Can't even sale it for $50.00 and its a $90.00 dollar servo..
People won't pay top dollar for old electronics/helis when they can get updated stuff for the same price..

Yes, and all the prices are driven down because of the knock-offs and all the new pilots that think they will be a pro in a week and couldnt possibly be seen at the field with something less than what is top of the line.

Sorry, I'd rather stick with a brand like Futaba that has been producing quality products for a long time, even if its not the newest. In the end you always get what you pay for.

Have you ever used a Futaba or JR product?

I think the problem also is the upward curve of electronics technology in general, as well as the surge of knockoffs. Look at the price of a good FBL system now such as the BeastX etc. That was a GY401 a few years back.

Yes,I used Futaba S9252 cyclic servos,Hitec cyclic servos,JR cyclic servos along with Futaba and JR tail/throttle servos so why do you ask?Your more than welcome to look through my past sale ads and feed back so you can see I had LOTS of quality electronics..

I had a brand new Futaba and JR tail servo fail with in a few months so are you saying I got what I paid for ?We have a guy at our club that had 2 sets Futaba S9252 (one out of the first set and 2 out of the 2nd set) that failed..Futaba DIDN'T warranty them so I don't think he got what he paid for either.I also know MANY other people that had Futaba,JR and Hitec servos fail so lets not make stuff sound problem free.

Why do you keep saying its all the new pilots and knock off stuff?Do you understand that Futaba,JR,Hitec and other top of the line brands come out with updated stuff? If so then you should know and understand thats why your stuff is old and not worth much..It has nothing what so ever to do with what people buy because MANY still buy top of the line electronics and helis but, people aren't about to pay top dollar for old 5+ year old electronics and helis.
Don't know how else to explain this and hope I didn't come off the wrong way.Its your stuff so sale it for what you want but don't be mad because noone wants to buy it.You have a few options

Sale it and hope the 1 out of a thousand buys it
Part it out
Or donate it like GyroFreak said
Not trying to be mean about it but others will tell ya the same thing ..
+1 ppridday.

Everyone newb wants the latest fbl system, slickest pod canopy with paint, everything anodized in candy colors, tons of cf, and dirt cheap replacement parts even if they don't last long to begin with, a total replacement is a few hundred $s away.

Y, Your stuff is worth something to someone someday but that is like a needle in a haystack. Don't be discouraged just because it's older gear. Replacement parts cost is a deterrent. I wouldn't even compare your helis to the abundant cheap stuff of late. The Freya is a good looking but huge bird for a beginner, the Raptor could use a better paint scheme (toss a trex canopy on it and chuck the horizontal wing and tail for some cf) maybe.

There was a Shuttle revival not so long ago which seemed to be a lot of fun. Guys improved the cyclic action enough to do credible 3d like this dude,

Watch at YouTube

and some converted to all electric with good results. If you didn't see mine it was only worth $100, maybe less, needs work.

Flybars are a pain in the ***, everyone knows it.

I am in sales, everyone understands its tough right now, be patient, BladeStrikes says it good.

I dont look at it as "old". I look at Schuttles as OLD and Nexus 30's and Concepts 30's/60's as old. People still flying raptors and Freyas will agree that the Freya especially is a machine that can keep up with all the latest helis. It will always be a worthless argument. People are spoiled today. I always look at it as, its not the machine, its the driver. Half the people that buy the latest greatest crap on the market cant even use it to its full potential. And these are all the people voicing their worthless opinions and persuading the rest of the market on where to go. Ok, I guess my stuff is junk, I will accept that.

Hey, I have a TRex 600N. You seen the prices of those on the used market? Based on the percentage that these are repaying now from new, I guess they are junk too.

I have a Predator with a Wren 54 in it. That is old news now and would be a tough sell. No I am not going to run it through a chipper.... Be some wicked ass flames though eh!!!!

I dont want top dollar... you tell me. I put About $2700 into a heli, whats it worth now? A heli that has only 4 gallons of fuel through it and its never been crashed. $200? OS70 and pipe is worth more than that if I part it out. If I do that, whats a Freya airframe worth? They were $600-$650 new. People are still getting $100 For beat to crap Raptor V2's

lets take the servos, gyro and GV1 out, we've already established that they are worth nothing.

If the five year old helicopters and electronics are so good, then why not just keep them and fly them yourself? You bought them to enjoy them originally, who says you can't still take them out and have some fun?

Consider them free helicopters that owe you nothing because you have sucked the pleasurable marrow from the bones long ago. Every flight now is just icing on the cake.

Sometimes the most valuable things we have are what we don't owe anything on, still functions perfectly, and meets our needs.

Also, one of the greatest joys in life is to give something away with no strings attached, no expectations, and no conditions.

This thread displays that you may be missing these two profound joys in life, at least at the moment.

You have two perfectly functioning helicopters, but don't realize what you are really missing.
Enjoy things that money can buy IF you don't lose the things money can't buy.

Y, I did a bit of stock trading, you know that sometimes 2 for the price of 1 is not a good deal. Example: 4 pallets of ripened 3 day old Bananas with a 1 day shelf life, or 1 pallet of green unripe Bananas with a shelf life of about 10 days, same price for either choice.

Likewise, 2x 5 year old helis (originally $3k+ sell for $1k) or one of these (worthless) things,

Watch at YouTube

If I was spoiled rich I'd take em all, your Raptor, Freya, and a Goblin. and call the collection including my eskies (2), Align 450, 4g6, and Shuttle "helievilution",

Do you think I could fly them all at the same time with one receiver, wow, now that would be somthin.

The Goblin has nice yellowy colors in them don't they, don't go brown either.

the choice is obvious, enjoy people, it's been fun. t'was wundrin, what's the diff between "peepul" and "people"?
