hirobo ch-47 weird problem..
hello all,
with the help off "doorman" i have finally got my hirobo ch-47 to hover., but i have noticed a weird problem..While in hover
there was a significant YAW and roll issue.and once i got it trimmed both mechanically and on radio..heres what is saw while hovering 5ft off the ground.
..the back rotor disc/plate is tilted to the left, and i do not know how to correct.
heres what happens:
on the ground on target (gv-1) headpeed of 1525 ,(just before lift off), Both front and rear rotors are level with each other.
BUT Once its in Hover the Rear rotors show a significant
"tilt" to the left ( front is level) as if the frame twists.
,,Nothing is loose or crooked when on the table all blades track
straight..
anyone encounter this?. any inputs. OS 50HYPER MOTOR.

..p.s. thanx to stan/doorman ..i would have never felt comfortable enought to hover it.wihout his help..

I had a lot of issues with my Vertol and it was very unstable in the hover 6 years ago and FFF. I gave up.

I have now converted to electric but what is different this time is I understand CCPM very well.

I bought a CCPM swashplate measuring tool from Singapore Hobbies Pte Ltd and it slips over the main mast and allows and touches the swashplate on three points.

I discovered an error in the manual from the mid 2000's when I first started flying it comapred to the new manual now in relation to the pushrods. I just didn't get CCPM back then.

Check my gallery and compare whether you have the new or old manual, its pretty clear.

The geometry of throw on these rods is absolutely critical.

I wont be flying for a couple of weeks yet due to work commitments but I am hopeful with the geometry problems sorted I can finally get it flying a circuit this time around

Good luck can't wait to see you flying a circuit.

It is common on these Hirobo Tandems that that the rear swashplate may not rise and fall completely level with collective. The older style models mixed some forward tilt in the rear swashplate via the linkage geometry (during increased collective), and the newer CCPM models has provisions to do so in the Hirobo tandem control unit

After some flying with these models this mixing can be incresed or reduced depending on the "feel" that the pilot prefers.

I do not think that the left tilt that Spy29 is seeing on the rear rotor disk is a result of the linkage geometry. Please see the post in the "scale" forum in the thread with the same subject line.

Success !!., sandy/phoenix notar was right..I Rechecked both heads leveled the swashplates (meticulously) , reduced gv-1 headspeed a little. and added pitch to the rear rotor and viola, chinook.hovered with very little yaw and no roll/sideslip at all.. all it needed was a 5 subtrim at the rudder and its perfect.
having half turns on the hirobo links is the key, the chinook is very sensitive to even half turn changes to the links
..flew a round a bit.left to right..landed due to high winds..
thankx sandy..and stan,,, i can sleep well again

btw..sandy hows your red notar doing?.
