Go Pro camera question.
There is the motorsports and the outdoor mount versions... Any body using a specific one? There are different mounts for diff applications. Looking for someone that has some knowledge of the diff types of mounts in either. Thanks!

The outdoor edition comes with a head strap and helmet strap as well as the six (3 curved and 3 flat) tape stick-on mounts all GoPros come with. The motorsports edition comes with a suction cup mount in place of the straps.

Sounds like the motorsports is the one with the correct hardware. It said that there were a few more accessories but did not name them. What piece is the most commonly used to mount this cam to the flight equipment? One other thing...is anyone using a live video with this cam. I have one that plugs into a cam and transmits the live video to a monitor. I suppose the plug for video is universal? There is no such thing as up, it's all out...

I felt the outdoor version came with more accesories but I am going to buy the suction cup mount seperately. it would be the only one I would also need/want.

BTW I found they sell a GoPro LCD monitor which clamps and plugs into the back of the camera. it also opens up the menu to a much more user friendly menu than what comes on the front of the camera. the LCD is fairly slim comes with two additional rear covers and I believe it sells for around $79.00.

If you are going to FPV the camera most people remove the camera from the housing and mount the camera direct the the frame. The accesories anr not needed unless you are going to use the camera in other activities. Get what ever meets your needs for other uses. The base cameras will all be the same.

I'm assuming to take it out of the housing is because of the ease of access to the out/input plugs. I could just go through the housing and put a rubber seal. Thanks for all the information guys. There is no such thing as up, it's all out...

the housing is pretty heavy but it will withstand a drop from 15 feet or so (or in my case heavy landing), the surf version has a thick floatie pad that is a pretty good vibration dampener as well.

Thanks for the details. The weight would only help, my eq is pretty light as I am considering adding weight to it....sounds absurd I know. Usually we take weight off not add but this will help the vibration dampening system actually work better. There is no such thing as up, it's all out...
