I'm sure this thread would go on forever if everyone posted there terrible experiences with USPS. It's a government run business like immigration and there both the worst as far as accountability. I sent a phenix simulator thru the mail with tracking and they lost it! What did they give me back for my $100 package? $6.50 for my postage. Who would of thought you needed ins. If its tracked. I'll go with the guys Who know the to and from of my package- just be sure you get signature required or they could say they delivered it. That's what I learned......just sayin. When in doubt....fly higher!

Way past it's usefulness? Whatever. If the post office goes away, things are going to get expensive very quickly. They do a hell of a job for very little money. FedEx is way more expensive and they kick your package all the way to your door. I ship 5 items a week through USPS and have never lost one. Priority box for $5.50 across the country in less than 3 days is great service!
There is no tracking with USPS unless you insure the package. Delivery confirmation is just that, confirmation that the package was delivered. It's only use is so recipients can't deny that they got the package. Once the package leaves the US, isn't it the other countries post that takes over for USPS? It's probably stuck in customs.

To the op, I hope your package arrives soon

I don't think most people understand the depth that the post office provides... especially people overseas. Its not just about shipping a package every now and then

the reason those of us in the US have an address is because of the postal service. Try going to ups or fed ex to get a change of address.

not to mention cheap rates, qualified personnel, and in most cases a friendly postman that knows his route personally.

this thread could go on and on about complaints... small minded people like to complain. usually you won't hear from the millions of us that use it successfully.

As far as the post office goes you better use it or you might loose it.... And for the ones who don't understand once its gone you will. then you will complain how much it cost to ship/mail things.

basically the cost of doing business in America will get more expensive... its already happening.

My parcel arrived today. It's wednesday here, which means that the parcel took just over 3 weeks on the dot to get to Aus. That would't have been so much of a problem if I at least knew where it was and that it hadn't been lost somewhere. I had to keep reminding myself that not too long ago there was no such thing as tracking and we still survived. Just not too happy that I got home and the package was on the ground in front of my door....

By your way of reasoning, I don't see why we shouldn't also extend the same level of tolerance and compassion towards our governments. If simply appreciating the depth of work involved is enough, then I assume you must be 100% satisfied with the work of the Obama administration thus far, right? After all, you do understand the 'depth' of work required to run a country, don't you?

And small minded people like to complain, you say? As opposed to the large minded people that accept a raping and keep their mouth shut?

You see, this is what happens when you don't question your thoughts.

really, that's how you take it... I meant people that take action, and accept responsibility vs those that would rather complain and deny accountability.

as far as government goes... I'll cast my vote in November. I don't see how that is keeping my mouth shut. Although even then it would be a selection of the lesser evil.

not trying to start a fight but if your so disgruntled with the postal service, next time use the Austria post
