Only way too fly
How many of you would go back or try SS if they were available?
I believe it is more natural way to pilot, push the throttle...then use the stick as the noise of aircraft.. Think about that??
Any company that brings a high tech single stick radio to the market will make a dent in the traditional radio market

JUST DO IT FIRST CLASS....

ANY ONE INTERESTED?

Then why did single stick die out??? No market demand. However, sometimes what is old is new. You never know.

You would probably sell at least two of them in the first month and try to sell the other two for the next year or so.

You in some way have to learn your orientation all over. Piro flips with a single stick is definitely something different. In some ways it is easier.

The big thing for me, other than no desire to go back to square one, is I fly thumbs and don't use a neck strap. Never have, never will. Single stick without a neck strap (in the configuration Curtis has with the throttle on the left gimbal) is almost impossible to fly.

Like JKos said, there is a reason they died out.

I tried to sim with Curtis' radio once or twice....

Notice I said try.

You would have to completely start over from scratch and teach yourself how to fly.

Even hovering was extremely difficult.

OLD DOGS CAN STILL HOPE
The main reason SS died out was because they were basically hand made. Today radios require much less manual labor. When made in Japan the SS were with very few quality issues. No question the market is small next too 2 stick but I can still hope for my SS radio..

The radio market is really expanding with some fantastic products being released...I love this hobby..

You don't need a whole radio. It would be trivial to make a single stick conversion like in the first post. In higher end Futaba radios at least, the cables plug in. Single stick had pretty good market penetration once upon a time, maybe 20%. Even more if you include 3 channel radios.

Why did single stick die out ? Price ?

For Heli's, where do you put the switches ?

In my gallery is a pic of a single stick radio I built from a JR 8103. I learned to fly helis on a single stick back in the 70s and miss not being able to find them. Fully cnc machined open gimbal in the finest tradition.
