On the side of the TX. The left hand would hold the tx and slide the throttle/collective.

Is there not also a gentleman who uses his mouth to control the collective via a special device?

Yep. He has a device that he controls collective with his mouth. I've flown with him. Its actually pretty amazing. He is a pretty good pilot even tho he only flies with his right hand.

I think the left stick is that small black "thingee" on the gimbal. I thought CY just uses his left stick for THR/COL with a smaller stick yes/no? And rudder with the right. That doesn't look like CY Tx. Too pretty and clean. His is all "well used" like a Stevie Ray Vaughn Stratocaster.

I talked with curtis last month and felt his tx its very wierd lol. But he loves it. He tried flying a regular radio at NATS and lost he said he will never fly a regular one again. He still has pitch on the left stick just not rudderNovarossi Motors U.S.A

Now i remember why a radio like what curtis uses makes so much sense to me, it's because it just like using a pc joy stick to fly a heli, the same way i use to fly "apache 95" pc sim ! i loved that sim and flying a heli that way !!!

i wish a could afford to try flying a heli with a tx like that......

ACE RC used to sell a 3 axis stick. Don't know if you can find one since they went out of business. Maybe find single-stick Tx somewhere and gut the gimbal and stick.

Pitch
He used to cradle his radio and used a slider built into the right side in the past for pitch.

His dad mods his radios.

Also, I believe, Radio South will build a radio with a single stick to your specs/needs.

I think that Dave Youngblood (Curtis Dad) does his conversion on his radios, at Austin a couple of months ago he was flying a XG8 JR radio, Curtis could fly a helicopter without any sticks at all I think, just my 2 cents worth. Bobby
