gy 701 governor setup
hello guys!

once again i have a problem and i need your help.
i have a trex 700n with an ys120sr on it all seems to work fine till the time i engage the governor.
when i do that the engine at idle up hunts. it make a noise like it is lean and i have a tail wag. like the throttle servo plays between full and idle.
i think it is the governor setup and probably something at expert menu idle up low limit or something like that.
tomorrow i am going to check it but i want some tips about the gy701 gov before start changing numbers on it just to inform you i have set the endpoints correct and all the necessary governor settings. i own an other gy701 with governor at my 600n with ys56sr no prob at all (i thing) but i never touch the expert settings.
i need your lights once more
thank you guys

me thinks there is too much power and the governor tries to regulate the rpm from going too fast and from going too slow. did you tune it first without the gov enabled?

you are right gouki! i did that yesterday

fistly i tuned the engine right and then i engage the governor.
also i reduce the governor's gain at 30% instead of 40% and i increase the low limit idle up about 10 points (i dont remember where it was).
My rpm are set to 1900 and i have an exceedance at 2050 or somethng like that at full dive (i dont know if you understand me my english is not good sorry)
I also have futaba s9254 for throttle and as i read gy701 governor is not so happy with fast servos.

now i would like to try a different gear ratio instead of 8.2:1
i read that the new align slant gear offers you a gear ratio of 8:1
which i thing it is going to be better. (i think !!)

that's what happens when using fast servos for throttle. i actually prefer that, when that happens to my throttle during slow forward flight, i know my engine is tuned properly. i am using cy atg v3 with align ds650 though

i forgot to mention that that also happens when the needles are too lean i'm sure the power of the ys120 is very good, that the engine can over rev even when it is rich

ys120 power is awesome
i am running it at 200F temprature which sounds to me very rich 230 the motor works and feels great. At this moment at the field we have 100 to 104F too hot m8!! and i dont want to push it hard as it is a new engine only 3 gallons on it
