Any experience with AR7200BX receiver?
I have a T-Rex 450 FBL with the 3Gx. I recently had a problemw with the 3Gx not binding with my transmitter (I think it may have been damaged in my last crash). I like the heli and I want to keep it going but I have never had much luck with the 3Gx. I am thinking of replacing it with the Spektrum AR7200BX which has the Beast-X built in.

I am looking for any comments (good or bad) about this receiver.

FYI, I am still fairly new to the sport. I am past hovering and pretty comfortable with FFF but not up to 3D yet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bob

I flew my 450 with the 3g for about 2 years then finally upgraded to the 7200bx and LOVE it. Completely different heli now.

The Skookum SK540 is worth a look.

It is a little more expensive than the Ar7200BX. It can use an external receiver or you can use the Spektrum satellites (like the 3GX).

The skookum is a good device but the Ar7200BX has its own antenna's on a 450 you don't need additional sats. keeps it simple.Richard

Hey Bob

I would say you can't really go wrong with the AR7200BX. Previously I had Three 3GX units and although they flew great once I made the switch over to the AR7200BX I couldn't be happier!

I have it on my 700E, 550E, and 450Pro.

If you need any help with setting it up don't hesitate to shoot me a PM, by the looks of your location you are Pretty local

I have two in service and one standing by for a conversion of an FB helicopter to an FBL one.

I have one in a Blade 300X and one in a Trex 600E with a TracX head. Both work extremely well!

This was my first flybarless system I have ever tried. It was flawless in setup and installation. I have had it in my 700e for months now and have experienced no tipping tendencies or weird issues.Got to have my cup of heli in the morning.

AR7200BX
I have been a Die hard V-Bar guy for a few years now and always wondered what the Beast was like. I took a chance and bought one from Ron Lund @ Heliproz South. I had an issue with the unit and was ready to give up when Ron and I where talking and the Next Day I had a New One sitting on my Door Step shipped (Overnight Red). "Not Cheap". Long story short, I got it set up and realized I had made some mistakes in regards to Set-up and the old unit was indeed faulty. I have only had time to hover this hell so I can't give you the Full report on How it compares in flight with the V-Bar, But it's damn nice to hit a button and make an adjustment in the blink of an eye and be right back in the air. I have 3 now and will be purchasing another from Ron.

By the way You Can't go wrong getting one from Ron @ Ron's Heliproz South. the customer Service Is Outstanding.

If you're not sure, I would give it a try. Its price is similar to a receiver or a FBL controller. It has it all except govenor at a cheap price.

BeastX
You can pick your poison I have used the 3g and 3GX, the BeastX is the easiest and most practical flybarless system out there there simple to setup and adjust in an instant and with the tail compositions there is no issues I only use them in my Helicopters I've had and or still have Trex 700E V1-2, 3, Gaui X5, Synergy E7, and Trex 700N the worst thing I can say is I LOVE IT AND WOULDN'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT.

Just reporting.

I got the AR7200BX and put it in my 450.

I am very glad that I did. It was easy to set up. I have about 6 flights on it now and just about have the gyro gains set. I love being able to use the parameters menu to level the swashplate.

I have it set to sport mode and I am only using +/- 10 degrees so it is pretty docile. There were some fairly strong winds last weekend but the heli was totally locked in. It might as well have been dead calm.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.

Happy flying.

Bob
