the guy's screenname is jackass, what did you expect?

Also, it looks like when he put it together the first time, he probably got loctite in the bearings on the swash driver arms. The pinch bolt is obvious: he used a wrench on it and kept cranking down until it pulled the threads out.

Both problems are fixable. New bearings for the arms, drill/tap the pinch bolt out to the next size up (if there's enough material to do it). PITA that he sold you something in that condition without disclosing it, though.

I dont think the head is worn out. The guy might have just not put in a washer behind that arm and thats why its locking up when you tighten it.

Yes,the head is worn out/damaged..I replaced the bearing in the arms with a brand new set I had in my tool box..I even put the brass washer between the head/arm on the bolt. The block is worn out because the lip the bearing rides on is smashed/worn down.

ShuRugal,
So you know being as you said its fixable--> its not because you can't stick a bigger bolt through the inner bearing race. You can tap a bigger hole for a bigger bolt but its not going through the bearing, bet ya didn't think of that .When I buy something used and its said to be in perfect working order,I don't expect it to look new but I do expect it to be exactly what its said to be --->in working order, not unusable, stripped and worn out ..This is a FBL head and im not about to try screwing with it or any head..
This isn't a Mr.Fix-it thread so i'll close it..
