Im considering adding a ferrite ring to the YGE, just for "insurance", as I've only flown Kontronik, which uses them.
Has anyone had any issues on the 800 without a ring?

Thanks!

I read somewhere that the rings were not necessary when you use the 2.4 tx and rx systems.Bill Whittaker

Actually, YGE160 benefit from them, on the Phase sensor signal cable.
It's so long and it can pick up interference along the way, so I know several who has fixed it by putting on a ferrite ring for a more stable signal to the VBar governor.

Mr Mel,

Does twisted servo wire, verses straight servo wire, negate the need for a ferrite ring?

I doubt it. Back int he 72mhz days we had to have rings in front of he ESC to get rid of interference and twisted wire didn't help at all. Ferrite ring solved problem and this is same scenario. Put the ring on. Worst case you add 1/10 of an ounce and it goes for a ride.
