do i have an air leak? i have a zenoah 270RC in one of my helicopters. it has been running great for the past year and a half. then it developed a surging. at mid stick the motor has a bad surge, if i lean up or richen it, the next flight the engine might surge at full throttle, or mid throttle. i have replaced the carb. insulator block and it still does it. i have noticed a oily black residue on top of the fan, thought maybe a seal is gone. it idles fine. . |

Also, if its not put on right to begin with will cause problems even with the spring.. Fitting the crank through the seal usually takes two or three movements back and forth to get the seal lip to rest properly...Bill |
