Electric Noob
Guys,

I'm a nitro guy moving to electric. Just bought a Goblin 700 and I'd like to know if any of you know of any sites that explain in detail the whole jargon of electric motors, speed controllers and LiPo batteries.

Any web links you guys know of that explain all this electrical bull so I can get my head round it would be great!
Cheers, Will.

Battery Link
This is an outstanding site for information regarding all types of batteries. You will be focusing on the Lithium Polymer type, or "LiPo" mainly but read up on any type that you actually use--like Nickel variants. If you take your time reading, you will learn more than you ever thought you would want to about batteries in general. I really love this site.

http://batteryuniversity.com/

This will get you started on the battery side very quickly.

General Electric Heli Link
And then there is this...

http://www.swashplate.co.uk/html/ehbg.html

Back when you could only get this in pdf form, I read it cover-to-cover several times. I got more info out of this than any other single source. RR is obviously a wealth of info too, but you are looking for primer material and between the BU link above and this guide, you will be off and running nicely.

Incidentally, (and this is just opinion) I totally favor electric over fuel anymore. The technology is so good and the birds run so clean that I just can't go the other way. And they sound so cool too--like a distant relative of the turbine engine...soundwise.

Good luck and I think you will be pleased with your Goblin.
