Support for Gun Laws
So where do you fit in?? I haven't got any issues with any of these. I go one step farther, I think EVERYONE who wants to own a gun should prove they can safely handle it and know which end the bullet comes out of. Oh, and not to ever, under any circumstances, "clean" a loaded weapon!!
According to a poll conducted in May by Republican pollster Frank Luntz for the group Mayors against Illegal Guns, gun-owning Americans, including National Rifle Association (NRA) members, overwhelmingly support a raft of common-sense measures typically described as “gun control:”

1. Requiring criminal background checks on gun owners and gun shop employees. 87 percent of non-NRA gun-owners and 74 percent of NRA gun owners support the former, and 80 percent and 79 percent, respectively, endorse the latter.

2. Prohibiting terrorist watch list members from acquiring guns. Support ranges from 80 percent among non-NRA gun-owners to 71 percent among NRA members.

3. Mandating that gun-owners tell the police when their gun is stolen. 71 percent non-NRA gun-owners support this measure, as do 64 percent of NRA members.

4. Concealed carry permits should only be restricted to individuals who have completed a safety training course and are 21 and older. 84 percent of non-NRA and 74 percent of NRA member gun-owners support the safety training restriction, and the numbers are 74 percent and 63 percent for the age restriction.

5. Concealed carry permits shouldn’t be given to perpetrators of violent misdemeanors or individuals arrested for domestic violence. The NRA/non-NRA gun-owner split on these issues is 81 percent and 75 percent in favor of the violent misdemeanors provision and 78 percent/68 percent in favor of the domestic violence restriction.

Enough gun laws and restrictions on law abiding citizens.

Go after the criminals and make it stick with extremely severe gun violence laws that lock em up for no less than 10 years per offense, with long probation periods, with restrictions on judges in sentencing.

No more gun restrictions on law abiding citizens until we lock down the criminal element with guns. Period. Enough is enough.
Liberty once lost, is lost forever.

I am not the least bit surprised that you are in the minority, even among NRA members.

Think about what the Constitution is saying when it says: shall not be infringed. I see nowhere does it say anything about background checks.

These checks are one more area of the constitution where our rights are being stripped away from us. We learn to live with theses checks, then not too far down the road as we get 'used' to certain restrictions we end up losing this amendment altogether!

This pretty much says all that is needed as to what you think. You cry wolf that people are calling you names yet this statement basically states that all people that want a gun are total incompetents and that is being very mellow! Pretty hypocrital is it not?

Everything on your list is pretty much in place already where I live so what and where are you pushing this list for? California is proably near this already as well.

So are you a big fan of Bloomberg as well?

You can only shoot once with that gun and then reload again by this
time some brave koot can jump on you before you fix another carthrige
now today gun can fire 100 round and you dont have to reload until you
hit 100 target what the point?,' it mean 1 gun can kill a lot of people
compare to the time when the constitutation was intact. NOw that wepon
or more advance time to revamp the 2nd amendment';

Yes! You are correct! When the Constitution was written it was meant for the people to have free access to military weapons so that they would be on an even keel with the government.
So the ban on machineguns and missles not to mention on large caliber cannon etc... is unconstitutional and needs to be changed now!
Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

Then you bring several weapons, then the koot would have to be even crazier in order to jump on you.
if you ban assault rifles the bad guys will still get em,the crazies that cant get one will start using ammonium nitrate (Ok city bombing) or gasoline and a match.
The key is to get the crazies off the street.

We are living in a different age we dont have leaders who will be
such a fanatic," but we just exclude some tyrant muslim leader who will
try to pull off some killing like those of 100 years ago Just take syria for example.
never again it will be some grusome chit like this. I can bet on it'
people of our time shouldn't even think this trough;' bassically we'r arming our self thinking for the worst and there 's nothing here to
protect us from us. We arms our self out of fear from our govement
that is not doing anything to arms us while we prey on each other
with the arms we had, The 's what the end result is for us because
we want to be over protected.

Yeah, I agree.

The more the left keep flapping their lips about gun control, the more guns are sold.

We cannot prevent nasty, tragic things like Colorado form happening. Its impossible to predict those kinds of things. But, when they do happen, gun sales jump dramatically every single time for obvious reasons. People choose to protect themselves with the constitutional rights they have.

Most every single locality where gun laws are lax, crimes are down. Most every single locality where gun laws are strict, crime is up. In some places like Chicago and Washignton DC, where gun laws are the most restrictive, its a frickin war zone.

Facts are facts.

Duh.
