Make them yourself for around $30 (Carbon Fiber, can do it cheaper with cheaper blades).

It's not that hard, just need the supplies and a steady soldering hand. I can find a "how to" thread and suppliers of the parts for ya if you don't know of any. Tim

if you know of the source of supply and the thread that has the info, a link would be really appreciated! i like that pic you posted of the lighted blades. seems that the only small heli night blades that are available are the ms and im getting a feeling from reading that they are similar to the align??

I don't know about the ms or align blades but I have heard a lot of the store brand night blades are junk so I made my own.
First you'll have to choose your blades. If your using CF blades you'll have to isolate the edges because the CF is conductive and will drain your batteries fast. I just used small pieces of tracking tape.
Then choose the color leds you want to use. I got mine from here http://lighthouseleds.com/led-compo...5-smd-led.html. EDIT, yeah I don't know what's wrong with that link you just need 0805 SMD LEDs, Digikey has them I think.
Then you'll have to use a resistor for each led. I used these for every color http://www.garrettelec.com/search/r...732ATTDK68R1B25 Some people say you should use different resistors for different colors but mine have at around 20 hours and are all fine and all the same brightness.
The switches I used were the smallest ones the local Radio Shack had but someone after I made them gave me this link for smaller switches http://www.digikey.com/product-deta...14-1-ND/1640123
You may be able to get the leds, resistors, switches and maybe even the batteries at Digikey.
I used GFORCE 1S 3.7V 100mAh batteries and they last for about 40 min. straight on with 6 LEDs before needing a charge. You can probably use higher mAh batteries for longer time.
Which brings us to the charge connectors. I used these http://www.helipal.com/hs1235-night...-connector.html (didn't get them from there but those ones) I just made a charge lead with small alligator clips with shrink tube slightly shrunk around them for my charger.
Next you need copper foil tape, I used the silver coated kind because I read the plain copper can corrode or tarnish or whatever copper does. This one might be sold out but something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...cvip=true&rt=nc I think some arts and craft stores sell it for stained glass window art. You have to cut it down into thin strips.
Then you just need some solder, flux, a soldering iron a little CA glue and a lot of patients Those leds and resistors are super small, get yourself a free standing magnifiying glass like this one http://www.goldmine-elec-products.c...p?number=G12810
I'll PM you the link with video instruction I used to put it all together because I don't know how RR feels about posting links to "the other" sites. If a moderator reads this and says to post it here to help other people on here I will. Or anyone can just google "how to make your own DIY night blades" and I'm sure they will find a thread showing how to put them together. Not that hard really once you have all the components.

Forgot to mention you'll need some shrink wrap around the batteries to hold them on there. I used double sided tape to stick them on and then I couldn't find any shrink wrap locally so I cut a lot of thin strips of packing tape and went crazy wrapping them in the direction the blade spins and also wrapped the ends of the switch. After a few flights the tape turned into a solid block, not going anywhere.

Get a bunch extra leds and resistors, they are cheap enough. They are very easy to lose on your workbench, very small. And you'll have enough copper tape to make 50 more blades... Good luck with it!

I know this is an older thread, but I just wanted to let anyone know I have two sets of 500 size DIY night blades and some other night flying accessories that I'm selling.

Drop me a PM if you are interested.
