if weight is not really an issue and you are looking for the best,id go with a gopro hero2 and with the new wi-fi remote plus they will come out with an app soon so you can view live video on your smart phone,i think is going to be a hit for us rc nuts,i got two hero2 with the wi-fi and love it,the best ever in my opinion

Sony
We are getting into personal preference answers. The best affordable HD video camera appears to be the Sony NEX5r.

great HD video, 1080P @ 60 frames/sec...I think is the spec.
A bit heavier on the lifting platform and the pocketbook.

From there price is the limit.
No,No..The other left!

The GoPro3 just came out. The Black edition has some serious specs. Although it still has a wide angle, fish-eye lens.

I would stay away from the GoPro though. I have the GoPro Hero2. It is a nice little toy, but rather pricey for what it can do. You will need to get good (and expensive) post-processing software to make the GoPro output acceptable IMO. The WiFi is OK when used with the GoPro remote; however, the range when using the app is only around 150 feet!

The Sony NEX 5R is an awesome camera for AP use. It is not out yet, but will be available on the October 23rd. I use a NEX 7 now. However, there are features like built-in WiFi (longer range than the GoPro) and advanced AF (phase shift and contrast) that make it better as an aerial camera. I pre-purchased one months ago.

If you are planning to use this mico camera for FPV only, save some money and just get one of the NTSC 480 board cameras for around $40. You really don't need HD for FPV.
