T-REX 500 ESP DFC HEAD
Hi to all of you.I have one 500 esp and i'm thinking to converted in DFC flybarless.What parts i need for the conv?I see the align have one kit...any other parts?

the dfc kit comes with the shorter main shaft. the feathering shaft u use out of ur head along with ur thrust bearings. u only need the kit and some type of zero pitch setup tool for a flybarless head

Ok thanks.So the kit dfc and one mini v-bar and i'm ready.I have my 500 3 years now with a lot of sport flight.I'll change the stock L motor with one 1400 kv scorpion and the esc with one ice-75 and i'm thinking to go in flbless because i dont flying yet fbl.Enjoy my Facebook page name F3C special.

You will need to get the newer style blade grips. The DFC kit doesn't include the blade grips. You will need the blade grip style that comes with the EFL or PRO kit.

These - The DFC kit does supply the grip arms so you don't need them

Also you don't need it but the new DFC swashplate is a nice add and piece of mind. The new style tail is available for the ESP also.

What do you guys mean by a 0 degree pitch tool? Are you talking about a an angle tool? How is the 500 to fly with the DFC? I have the kit, I just havent installed it yet. I'm curious to see how it would fly. Besides the DFC setup, what other things would I have to upgrade on my 500ESP to turn it into a 500EFL Pro? Any help on this would be appreciated.

The 500efl is just about a completely different heli from the esp.

The pitch setup tool is the head button replacement that gets a section of "flybar" stock to give a reference point to measure pitch with a standard pitch gauge.

T-Rex 500 E or ESP to DFC conversion
Hi, all! Wanted to let you know my experience with the conversion. Needed to buy blade grips, bring over thrust bearings and washers, feathering shaft, and brass bushings (between blade grips and head) from the ESP head. I also needed to buy H50157T main shaft spacer, and used both spacers, since the main shaft no longer has an adjustable collar. Also needed to shorten servo links considerably because the head is so much lower. I'm not completely done setting up flybarless controller yet, but I may need to go in closer on the servo arms to get the right geometry.

I also had to grind down two extra washers for the feathering shaft to take the play out of it.

I added the DFC swash as well.
