Heading mode or rate mode?
You guys that are experienced at this speed game.. Which is best to run? Heading or rate???

Having it in rate mode allows you to fly the helicopter kinda like an airplane. I think it makes things easier.
Some guys modified their tail fins with an airfoil shape on the vert fin. The vert fin does the work while the tail blades can go to nearly zero pitch, minimizing drag. I'm not sure if those guys are in rate or HH, though.

I have tried both and can't really tell much difference at speed. In theory rate mode has advantages but you have to trim the tail so the machine flys straight. In practice once the machine is up to speed the tail blades are pretty much running close to zero pitch when in HH mode so there is not much difference.Danny - DemonAero Support Team
