Futaba Switches
Hey guys,
I accidentally dropped my Futaba 10C and broke off the "G" 2-position switch. I refuse to pay hobby services $70 to replace a $4 switch. I am perfectly capable of replacing it myself but the problem is getting the switch. Does anyone know where i can get replacement switches?

Thanks
A.J.

Get the switch from tower, I think is this one http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXCLP2&P=V or this one http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bi...p?&I=LXCLP1&P=V

Or as mentioned, try radio south. Have you try radio shack?

Have you taken it apart? If memory serves, the 9C switches were mounted to pc boards, might be more than swapping a few wires.Andy

You might be right about that...I've seen the inside of quite a few JR's, but haven't been into my Futaba yet.R.I.P. Roman

Maybe different on a 10C but I busted open my 9C and put it back together and sent it to Tony at Radio South. I'm quite comfortable soldering too.Andy

Looks like the ones from either towerhobbies or Ron's will work. I have opened it up and it is soldered to a board along with the trainer switch. I was worried because the pictures on both sites made them look like the threads were too short and the plastic parts were different colors. I opened up my futaba 7C radio and looked at the same switch. They were the same just different colors of plastic. So i will order a new switch and see how it goes.Stratus 90, Synergy E6, Trex 450 Pro

I have replaced my switches on my 10 CHP and they are mounted to a board

I bought them from Tower

Was not to tough but you need to have a few hands as you have to heat the board and pop the switch out at the same time .....

I used a small jewelers flat blade screw driver to apply just a little bit of pressure upward as I heated the solder connection .

The switch should pop right off the board

I did the reverse when installing the new switch and applied pressure while heating and the new switch poped right back in place . I then added a small amount of solder

Thanks dcasole. I already ordered the replacement from tower. I have also already removed the broken one so i will just need to install the new one. It nice to hear that they work. Which ones did you break?Stratus 90, Synergy E6, Trex 450 Pro

I forget what the switch is named but it was the one on the front top right . It made it a little more difficult because I had to remove the two that are located on the top of the radio ( the trainer \engine kill)in order to get to the front board

All in all it was not bad but when you are working on a 600.00 radio you get nervious......

(Plus I knew if I could not do it I could get 4Stroker to do it for me lol)
