pinions,which to use

Just installed a used motor in my 500 and it has a 15t pinion on it.Is that what they come with,I never checked mine before now I see different ones on here 11t and so on.which is better I fly mild 3d and the only hard 3d are my saves.I have 2650 voltz and fly them 4 mins.I liked my Turnigy 3300 which i got 5 plus out of with 30 % left in them.Will a pinion change help me ???? Voltz suck

That is similar to a question like "how long is a piece of string?"

Without knowing motor details and desired headspeed, you cannot recommend a pinion.

Lets not over think this thing,stock motor probably 1600kv stock esc and blades.My question is simply will lowering my pinion t give it better performance ie 3d. Or better yet Running all stock gear with 2650 batterys what combo gives the best run time and performance?????

Lower pinion teeth is lower headspeed and less load on the battey but not as snappy as higher headspeed you get with more teeth on the pinion.

But as Jim pointed out there is more to that. One question is do you have a flybar. FBL heli generally want/need higher headspeed.

13T works well with a 1600kv motor and no gov. Some will run 14T if using a gov for head room. 15T does not sound like a good match for the stock motor.
