First Impressions Picked up my new 130x at the LHS on Thursday afternoon, but it was Saturday before I could do a maiden flight. The good news first. Once I got it in the air, it flew fine. It was actually pretty smooth and I didn't notice the vibration that seems to be a common problem. However, that's the end of the good news. The bad news. I had a great deal of difficulty keeping the model from rolling over when spooling up. It consistently rolled over to the right during spool up -- long before head speed got fast enough to lift off. The aileron and elevator servos stopped working after each rollover and I had to unplug the battery and reinitialize the gyro after each rollover.Tail rotor servo stopped working and then started to work again, but only intermittently. And, when it did work, it required FULL left or right stick to get any movement. When it did move the tail went to full right or left pitch. I couldn't get anything in between.I haven't decided if there's a problem with the t/r servo or gyro.I think Horizon has some work to do on this model and I hope they will support and work with those of us who are trying to work through the problems.Bottom line. I got 3 good flights along with a great deal of frustration. I'm don't regret buying the 130X, but I sure hope we can confirm the problems and solutions soon. |
