Now that we seemed to have rid the trolls from trashing this thread at one point. Good to be back on topic. I have a neighbor I was constantly helping along with his align 250..convinced him to go with the 300x, to say the least he is loving it. Myself I enjoy the larger helis, but admit this 300 is dope.

Eye in the sky,

Exactly, I have been adjusting settings in Beast to get better collective and cyclic response but am at the limit with the wood blades.

Carbon blades are gonna make a huge difference

I am having a blast with my 300X. I went with the 250mm CF blades from Microheli and they are a beast. I think I got them from helidirect.

Heli flys so much better with CF blades on it. Several other flyers at the field want a 300X after seeing mine fly. Definately love this bird....

Fly it like your stole it!!!!!

Research? Spend 30 seconds on Horizon's site and look under hop-ups for the 300 X... Length is listed right there...

The 300x works best with 245-255mm CF main blades, for sure. I'm currently using some 255mm clubheli CF's and they work great. The stock 300x woodies have been demoted to my crappy old SR, lol!

Cheers,

That's what I meant by research. I use the forum for what it was intended.

Now Mike.. TomC hopped right in and responded like a helpful Runryder! What's the deal? Some people aren't as resourceful as others! It takes all kinds for the world to go around! If we could all afford or had the same taste.. We'd all be flying a Gaui X7! Then there would only be one forum!

I saw this as a more general query regarding blade sizes suitable for the 300x and responded accordingly.

Had you done what mbarhsi suggested you would just have been directed to the HH 300x hopups webpages and only seen the Eflite CF blades.

Anyway, we are all here to help, not criticise one another right?

Cheers,
TomC

Normal
TomC! EXACTLY! I know very well about the Horizonhobby "Hop Up" section and this Heli is not a common blade size.

Apparently not, or you would have already known these are listed there as 245mm blades. Henceforth, you would have not needed to ask about the size here, whether it's "common" or not.

Actually the 300x is fine with 245-255mm blades. Other than Eflite one's (245mm) most other makes in this Category of 300 heli's are listed as 255mm. Also depends a bit one how they get measured btw.

TomC

So where can we get a properly weighted(cg) blade for the 300X, since it's FBL...

Have not seen any FBL blades for these 300 sized heli's yet. I'm not sure that there will be much benfit on heli's this size because of the very light disk loading.

I see that Edge has come out with a new 253 CF blade but they do not say whether it's FB or FBL. May mean that they consider them fine for both?

Maybe HK will come out with some, lol!

TomC

I'm using Xtreme 235mm blades for the SR and they work fantastic. And at $7 a set can't go wrong

Those cheap 235mm plastic blades (w/holes in them covered by decals) are pretty heavy and need to be balanced (some, quite a bit). I've tried them a long time ago on my SR and did not like them. Certainly not as good performing as decent(~$20-30) 245-255 CF blades imho.

But, if they work for you, that's great.

Cheers,
TomC
