First 700 experiences should be what is common at your field. That way you get familiar with it while other check it out for you make sure its build right and airworthy. Local experience is your best benefit in this hobby.

IMO the Align 700 is the way to go. It’s easily found in most hobby shops. The DFC head probably will not get a boom strike if you’re flying mild 3D or even extreme. I slap my heli around and don't even think of it. Just follow the recommendations of those who actually fly it and still have yet to boom strike.

Wow, I know there have been boom strikes in the past but on the 700 if it was setup right, boom strikes do not happen. The 770 is still a prototype so adjustments still have to be made. Not a fair assessment right now.....RonTeam MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

Me personally, I prefer the design of the new 700E DFC.

Comes with a lot of new features like the direct servo to swash and 2-point tail pitch lever to name a couple.

Align DFC heads have been extremely reliable besides the 1 or 2 instances during the initial release, which at least one of so was basically the users fault.

I'm building one now and the quality is second to none, let the flaming commence

I am pretty sure if you break a linkage during flight any heli will boom strike when being flown like that.

Its still Prototype.
I have been flying an 800E for a long time now, regular peaks of 9.5kw. There is no way I would be sticking a low, DFC style head on it. I fly with NHP mains, super stiff blades and you should see the flex on hard stops.

Prototype or not, SAB are dreaming if they think the 770 will be immune to blade strikes with the current head setup.
