I think if you have a new engine and are breaking it in ,.,,fiddling with it etc it really puts the muffler and heli in a precarious place.
Once broken in and familiar the muffler will be fine also as well as the heli. I am no expert but once the motor is happy long enough so is the rest of the heli,,including the muffler. My old 1005's Hanson 26cc pro plus is so reliable and smooth,,,but I remember when it was new,,,it was a completely different animal as well as my Hanson 29cc in my Spectra. You really have to know the engines,,,I wished I had but had some help and the result after some head scratching and running in with some experienced help,,it was worth it. Thank goodness gas engines last so much longer than a nitro!

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

That is why I would start out with the stock muffler if you have one.

i started out with the stock can on the TRM270, run 3 gallons through it, and never had issues with leaks or the can coming off...i then installed the RJX muffler without gaskets or silicon and observed immediate leaks...i applied high temp silicon sealant both on metal surfaces and the bolts and all is fine since then....

I ended up doing the same with my RJX muffler as the mating surfaces are not machined. A smear of Ultra Black high temp silicone on the surfaces and all is good after the first run tighten up. I use nothing on the threads.

Same method, the tweak on the bolts after a hot run is quite important, they tend to need a bit more after the cold fitting.Excessive vibes through poor tuning and set up will loosen pretty much anything though.Stock can till run in and getting to grips with gasser tuning is not a bad idea,if your ears and neighbours can stand it

Maybe Turboomni can learn something and start fresh too.

Wouldn't it be nice to read informative gassers posts with no bickering?

I will start fresh for sure. Mr Kojack has ignored me and I have ignored him. It will be fine. I also have ignored many of his associates including BillME who said in a post ..well I wont mention it as it was really rude to a member here on RR. RR does have this feature unlike other forums. That is a good thing.

We are a little off topic here guys.

The Nordlocks are still holding on strong. Like the get some more very soon. If I get another muffler, do I have to replace the nordlocks, or can they be reused?
