Come to find out the reason I crashed my bearings were bad in my motor, caused the motor to bog and sputter, glow plug coil was gone.... bleeding off headspeed instantly... was no way to recover.... live and learn.....

I'm telling ya, you gotta send it in to Magnum for the rear bearing/bushing mod. It's the best 50 bucks you'll spend on motor parts. I am so glad I did.

On that note, I had all my receiver packs ready to go, get out to the field, fuel up, and start my preflight.

I ended up finding that one of the blade grip link bolts was "loose." I came to find out that it was actually stripped out. Sure glad I looked during a preflight. Of course no LHS has Synergy parts so I ordered a new main blade grip from FBL Rotors and was grounded all day. Nice to talk to some friends but I really wanted to fly.

The only thing that ticks me off is I have to trash an otherwise perfect blade grip for one tiny hole. Grrr.

I would drill and tap it out for the next size up screw... that way you can still salvage it??

I thought about that but then the actual grip arm would have to small of a hole and I'd have to size that up to and then when I wanted to replace the grip I'd have to replace the grip arm as well. I just figured screw it and ordered a new grip as a whole. I also had thought about some JB Weld but it's the shorter screw that the hole goes right to the grip bearing so JB Weld would have ended up seizing the bearing in the grip as well. Either way I looked at it there would have been a negative result from my actions.

Oh well, another reason for me to learn not to tighten things to the point of breaking them.

I think that looks nice and clean. My N5c has a lot of wiring under the tray as well but what I like about it is under the tray is getting it out of the way. At the same time it provides you the flexibility in a crash or if you need/want to change out components, to pull them out without cutting up a bunch of stuff. I wouldn't worry it looks good!Regards, Brandon Bartolomucci; Team Synergy; Team Scorpion; & Team Bavarian Demon; AMA# L939231
