Firmware 2.04 has at least two issues that I am aware of (one of which will reliably crash/reboot the radio in the mix menu) and has not been revised in MONTHS. I am very surprised Spektrum hasn't corrected them yet. I keep waiting.....

Very constructive.
The Mix menu bug causes the micro to reset if you scroll through the Mixes using the Bold list on the top.Simply avoid that and it not an issue.
You said "2 issues" but only refer to one.Is there a specific reason for that?

Sorry, missed your reply until today. The second bug involves the flap system. If you reassign the flaps to a switch other than the normal flap switch, the warning system doesn't work because it seems to be hard coded to the default flap switch instead of the flap FUNCTION.

The latest firmware is 2.05. It fixes a number of bugs particularly the one with the LTrim and RTrim sliders. In any case I had one DX8 load the software with no problem. The other just would not accept the update. It's brand new and is going in for repair.

If you have 2 radios you need to D/L the update for each specific radio separately. The update will only work from the account on each registered radio. In other words they are serialized for a specific radio. When you register them make sure you give them distinct names in your community account so you can keep them separated.

Really? And Horizon Tech Support did not think to ask me about that? I will give it a try tonight. Thanks for posting.

yep, the serial number for each TX is stored in the firmware update. The update file for one will not work for the other. I think the intention is to reduce the likelyhood someone will copy the transmitter design and "steal" their Airware software.

Thats probably one of the reasons.I think another bigger reason is to assure we all get a clean file for our specific radios. If you could load any old Airware file the possibility of a corrupted or tampered file is huge and could have serious consequences.

If you were not aware there were some changes made in 2.05 that changed subtrim and endpoints on reversed channels.2.06 allows the radio to automatically realign/offset those settings so they match what you had in 2.04 and before. If you are coming from below 2.05 simply go through and access all your models and if prompted click Update and then Yes to continue.Done and thats the last you will have to do.
If you did in fact do the 2.05 update and readjusted the trim/endpoint differences by hand already then when you load 2.06 and get the prompt you would click Cancel because you have already manually made the adjustment.
If a model doesnt have any reversed channels you will not be prompted.
The change only affected reversed channels.
The routine simply looks for files created by 2.05 or lower that have reversed channels and it triggers the update prompt. It cant tell if they have been updated by you in 2.05 or are still needing to be adjusted.Thats where you apply the brain and decide to Update or Cancel.
Then it marks the file as 2.06 and your done with it forever.

As usual after making a change you want to give your adjustments a quick check to confirm they are where they are expected to be.

well that's interesting. I haven't applied 2.06 yet but did notice that my T700 was rolling faster to one side then the other. I looked and there was subtrim one way and trim the other. centered the subtrim and adjusted the trim and it rolls a lot better. I'll put the 2.06 update on and see what difference I get.

Another new issue I've experienced a few times now is the screen gets very slow and sometimes 'bleed through' system messages on the screen. I did enable the telemetry recording and I realized I have a very small SD card in there - 16mb. I may have filled it up. The radio even started alarming beeping/buzzing without any way for me to stop it. I never had any control issues but I had to shutdown my 700 and power cycle the DX8 to get it to stop alarming. I tried to scroll wheel, clear, back ect... wouldn't clear the alarm until I power cycled.

but I'll move it to my DX18 shortly.
