Hi guys I finally decided to do the update from 4.0 to 5.3 after keeping my vbar in cold storage for over 2 years.

I am facing issues though, when I first connected the vbar to the USB cable, the vstabi software prompted me to update to the new V5.x software and so I did.

I copied down the serial no. and went to the mikado shop and paid for the V5 pro update. After that, I tried updating again but unfortunately the update failed. How long do i usually have to wait before I can download the update?

I decided to reboot my computer and reconnect the vbar to the USB cable but now the top panel only shows "USB" highlighted in green and "no connection" highlighted in red.

Im tried to connect the USB with and without receiver power but to no avail.

Can someone guide me as to what Im doing wrong here? I am unable to see what software version is loaded on the vbar unit and there's nothing i can do to update it at this point.

Did you delete the old driver or just do a driver update? Try deleting the driver first, reboot, then reconnect the V-Bar. It will ask you for the driver location. Show the program where you downloaded the new driver and it should work.

Do you have another computer to try it on? A friend of mine had the same problem with his computer. We tried it on mine and it worked without a hitch. Also, are you sure you actually purchased the upgrade to Pro? You should have received an email notification if so.

The email body contents looks like this:
Thank you very much for your purchase. Please find your invoice in the attachment.

I thought Mikado was in Germany. Why do they have a address in Hong Kong? I noticed this while I was doing my update.

There is a recovery program. I have never needed to use it but it sounds like this may be a case for it. It will load an unflyable firmware on to your unit so you can get communication with it then you can go ahead and load 5.2
