none... dont trust HV setups on BECs

Lipo RX pack here. specially after reading OTS's findings on his Goblin on BEC power draw vs available supply.

Ditto, don't trust any of the BEC's at all. Run LiPo or LiFe regulated if you need it or straight with HV servos.

Running several HV setups all on WR super bec set output 7.4 volts and all directly 12s hook ups with no issues. All servo setups are MKS bls HV 950s and 980s. Personally I don't understand all the fear it's not like the helis I'm doing this with are cheap by any stretch and it's not a weight thing it's not having another battery to worry about. There were several CC Pro bec failures hooked 12s but my WR have been solid.

Whatever makes ya feel fuzzy inside I suppose.

huh, where is this OTS's findings?

over the last several years I lost helis due to speed controls burning up, servos failing and a flybarless controller quitting but never one to a bec failure. Ran two trex 700s on a cc bec on 12s all last year, no failures. The bec is the most reliable electronics I have installed.

I have this WR can I use it as separate battery like 7.4V and hook to my V-bar. also i have couple of perfect regualtor that can handle 2-3 cell input and output from 5-8 volt

If that's exact one you have "NO" that is "NOT" sufficient no sir. If you do have HV servos which 8717 are and they draw more then 5 amp peaks you'd require the super.

USN and kc I'd like to hear of the failures you personally had with the super bec series to have such a strong stance on using Lipos please share.

I have used the western robotics super hercules bec on 3 of my heli; goblin and one of my henseleit and also now on a logo 600. I never had any failures or brownout. I have checked the vbar log many times. I use to ran them at 12S but now I run them at 6s. I had one 6s battery on a 12S system that brought my heli down; so now I run it at 6s so I have a 50/50 chance if one of the 6S battery goes down..

This will accomodate all your HV servos, V-Bar, and tail. Different settings for different voltages. I own them and they work.
