I recently purchased the Micro heli tail rotor for Trex500. Upon installation, my heli has tail wag that I cannot get rid of. I dismantle the tail rotor and check the thrust bearings and they are correctly installed. However, I find it difficult to remove or put back the thrust bearings in for one of the grips as if it is smaller than the other one. It is so tight that I doubt the thrust bearings can freely rock after spooling the heli up. Would that be the cause of the wag?

Do you by chance have one side whose thrust bearing races are the "inner" race, and the other where both races are the "outer" race?

Thrust bearings usually have two separate races and the ball-cage assembly. One of the races has a smaller diameter hole than its counterpart. The race with the smallest diameter hole goes furthest away from the hub, closest to the tail rotor bolt hole. The race with the larger diameter hole goes on first, closest to the hub.

Get them backwards or otherwise wrong, you'll have trouble till you fix it.
