Been flying my E550 for year now with an ALIGN 100A ESC and Viper motor on 6S with several Turnigy 6s batteries. Lost bind the other night for the first time. Did a rebind and all seemed well, spooled up and just as I got to lift-off the motor did a little kick and returned to speed and a few seconds later another kick. Put a freshly charged battery on and spooled up again and just as I got to lift-off again an intermittent kick off, not the tail, the motor lke shutdown.
I haven't reprogrammed the ESC yet. I am using a CC BEC on this setup.
Afraid to lift it off now for fear it will dump my heli on a sudden stopage or worse. Is this KICK a sign of an ESC dying? ESC is about 2 years old, came on heli when I got it last year. Been working fine for the year I have had it.

Nitro is so much less spooky.

It probably reprogrammed the ESC a little. Align ESC's are the absolute bottom of the barrel imo, you should really look at getting an Ice 100LV for it. It would be a lot safer, and they work better...You program it on your PC and losing bind would not affect the ESC programing. Bottom line: Align ESC's suck. In general ESC's don't really wear out, they only burn out(excessively heated, abused, etc.), but if it's working it's not burned out.
