That fan looks really tiny for a gasoline motor.

Fan and heat sink need enlarging. Both need to happen. If it is not running sub 250f forget it.

At IRCHA I asked in the OS tent about this engine. They said to me, "We've had lots of people asking about it, but there is nothing we can tell you."

...so nothing yet. I was looking forward to holding one in my hand.

So why did they join to IRCHA? To tell nothing? Spartan says nothing about the VX1. Now OS too. That's absurd.

OS Max is always represented at the Jamboree by Hobbico and they of course were there

The GT15 is still in prototype form so for most of the typical questions there aren't really any answers.

I'm assuming you saw the videos that OS provided of the motor performing however?

Even if this engine doesn't have the power of a 90 nitro, it's still worth developing. I hope OS doesn't give up on the project.

At only 15cc I think all the videos were very impressive especially considering the small displacement. Of course you can tell the pilot was very aware of the limitations of the motor and allowed the rpm's to max before an abrupt move and use the stored energy to 'POP" it to it's next move and then allow it to recover with a mild next maneuver. I have seen this many times especially with "new and Improved " gasser engines or heli's or both on video's over the years that have never transpired. But with a bigger displacement of at least 23 cc's or bigger who knows???,,I am very excited to see this product.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

I don't think this engine will remain in its current form...I'm guessing that it is still using the same internal design of a nitro engine like bronze bushings for both ends of the connecting rod instead of roller bearings like all other gasoline 2 strokes...and if they run it like that with gas, those bronze bushings will not last very long....

Once there done adding roller bearings and more cooling capacity, I'm guessing it will be a heavier engine overall and its advantage of being lighter will be gone.

I don't much care for the level of collective management needed to run this particular engine...I know it will have its place, just not sure its ever going to catch on...especially after reading Careys opinion on it on gas powered thoughts.

Turbo, Blanka,
Just noticed Espirit Model has the GT22 from OS...so your wish has come true?
a 22cc rated at 2.7 hp at 9000rpm with a Reed carb block too....well looked at the manual, still no roller bearings in the con rod ends...also states it needs betwen 25 to 20:1 mix (so the bronze bearings will last maybe)... I'm not sure if this would work in a heli application(like the DLE)....looks by the Hp figures that it may not be suited to the 13-14k RPM range we normally see in gassers.... But I'm sure some porting can maybe change that.
