That engine and flight impressed me. But I know that won't be the case for everyone.

Perhaps lessons learned by OS here will translate in the future into a bigger engine that is equivalent to a 91 size nitro.

And perhaps a tuned pipe would be an easier proposition for this form factor.

Yes. At the RC fair in Tokyo in October, I talked with O.S. staffs and they said that it's not for everyone. The main target is for average pilots, for example, those whom want to enjoy the basic flight maneuver with low running expense. Not for expert 3D maneuver.

I'm thinking "figure out a way to mount it and run it in a Radikal 20".... yes, no?? Thinking size wise and weight savings, it should be a good match. Never had a bad OS motor.

I'm thinking "figure out a way to mount it and run it in a Radikal 20".... yes, no?? Thinking size wise and weight savings, it should be a good match. Never had a bad OS motor.
I'm thinking there will be a CG issue...Given that this engine weighs much less, You may very well end up mounting all your electronics and battery up front to get a good CG.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

How in the world is that the 15CC engine...video says 2009...and it sure sounds alot like a nitro too...

As to the movie taken by Hatori, they attached the comment that the time stamp is wrong. If we open the movie separately by Youtube, we can find it. The setting of the video camera may be offset??

I've got a YS91SR installed in my T600N at the moment, this offers amazing / electric-like performance, but only 6 min per tank.

I'm quite keen on swapping with this new GT15 gas engine, even though I'll be loosing a bit in power (still more than a 55 !) if I can get 5-6 times more flight time per tank I'd be thrilled !!

But I am afraid the dimensions of this GT15 won't make this an easy task, the heat sink head is massive and the carb also, that will need some serious modification of the fan shroud.

For those of you guys that would be interested in doing the same, remember you'll need a 24 teeth pinion, that you can get at Infinity Hobby, so as to maintain a head speed close to 2K.

That price seems to be appropriate considering that's what any good .91 engine/pipe combo would go for... the only difference is this one runs on gas!

For me this is better value for the $$ compared to my OS 1.05

I can live with less power for pennies a flight!

opposed to $6.00 per flight with nitro

...I do hope to at least get .50 size like power with this gas Os engine installed in my Vision .90 DFC.

if you keep the blade size under 700mm, you can get more like .70/.80 type power

you've seen the videos of it flying various 700 sized models. I'm not sure the right gearing has been found yet to maximize that setup. 8.2 was better than 7.9 but I couldn't easily get the model to a shorter ratio. Although with todays flying styles high head speed is desireable so there's a tradeoff point where it won't make sense.

There is work being done to shoe horn it into 600 class models. It of course will be heavier than a typical 600 but should be interesting! On the smaller model it won't be a straight bolt in, it needs the 700 cooling system, clutch, etc.
