Got Pics or Name of it??
Need a little more info to help you out...does it have an engine in it?? Does it have blades on it?? If so measure the blades form the center of the mounting hole and measure in MM to the tip... if they are 500 or 550 it is a 30 size, if 600mm it should be a 50 size.. so a couple of questions for you and a couple of pics will help us identify it for you....

My guess is he's got a Sceadu, which could be had in 30 or 50 size (and a conversion from 30 to 50 was available, as well as a conversion from the Sceadu to the Sceadu EVO), a truly nice, well-behaved and much respected heli.

A few shots of my EVO 50 from days gone by...

Take a look at Ron's Heliproz South:

http://www.ronlund.com

or Heliproz:

http://www.heliproz.com

and Model Rectifier Corporation:

http://modelrectifier.com/rc-products/helicopters.asp

for parts.

Post some clear pictures if you can. It sounds like you have a 30-sized heli, might even possibly be a Shuttle of some sort.

Do NOT attempt to fly the heli with an AR6100. Although that receiver is a fine park-flyer receiver that would work extremely well in something like a Trex 450 or smaller, it is a limited range, park-flyer receiver. The larger heli is more likely to be flown much further away from you than a smaller 450-sized heli would be. You really need to go with some form of full-range Spektrum receiver having at least one satellite attached.

You could most likely have a ball with a simple 4-cell Nicad or NiMh battery pack on the order of 2000 mah or larger in this heli.
