I brought my welding helmet to work but It wasnt supposed to start till this afternoon. Unfortunately, I live in the perpetual cloudiness of the Pacific North west........but the sun is trying to poke out!

I too used to live in Hillsboro, so I know of the perpetual rain and clouds.

In Texas we had clear skies, but it's really too small to see without a telescope.

I really wanted to see it, but we had too many clouds until sunset, and it conveniently cleared up. I guess I'll just have to see the pictures! Stupid Ohio weather.....

I watched the start of the transit on the live NASA feed as it was dark here in the UK. Here's a speeded up version of the complete transit,

Wow, that's cool!

At least you got to see it for yourself, I had to reply on others. Even if I had got up in time for the UK sun rise it turns out that the sky was too cloudy.

Thanks!

It was really cool to see first hand, but seeing it in general was cool. We didn't get to see the last eclipse because it was cloudy, that always sucks. =(
