Are there known motors that don't work with Jive/Koby ESCs
I was just wondering if there are any Known compatibility issues with Kontroniks ESCs and name brand motors?

I thought I remembering hearing that the KDE stuff had issue, does this issue encompass the Castle line-up too?

What symptoms would manifest?

Would the ESC just not arm, or have start issues?

Does the newer firmware of the Koby eliminate the issue?

Steve Neu Motos is all I know of. Outside of those, have at it. They are really low inductance and Jives sometimes have a problem starting them.Team Mikado USA -- Team Insane Canopy -- Team Scorpion -- Team Evo Power Batteries

I had 2 different Neu motors.. a 1910 and a 1907 on Jives and no problems with either. Maybe I was just lucky. Some have had problems with Delta wound Scorpion 4525le motors. Had this combo to, but no problems.

Q. What is KSA mode?

A. KSA Mode is the KONTRONIK Special Application mode that is used if you are running a Hacker Electric Turbine motor. The KSA Mode (mode 10) switches the internal algorithm to run Hacker Turbines properly.

They run perfectly fine Neu motors I have 3 of them with Jive and the only time I had problems was with a shorted winding.

The Jive just refused to turn that motor. Steeve Neu repaired it and it run perfectly fine after the free rewind.

Jive make a check on motor condition before starting.
If the inductance is too low or too high for it's capabilities it don't start it and give a warning with it's LED.

I have run into this trying running unconventional motors like a big hub motor for small personal transport.

It seem that some peoples have problems running the kde 1917 but mine run just fine.

You must have perfect soldered connectors.

I strongly recommend that ESC your motor will have more power and it is the easiest esc to program that I tried.

Have awesome flights !
