I recently bought a used heli and I took out the engine to use in another heli. This is the pipe it came with. I haven't seen one like this before. It mounts to a YS 91 ST. The header mounts to the engine and the pipe slides over it.

I may be wrong, but it looks like a hatori pipe.

Man, I miss the eighties.

That is what I thought based on the o-rings. If so, then I guess it is a good one?

Yea... Sorry about that. I shouldn't have been so unkind. It's just the first thing I thought of when I looked at the pictures.

I like Hatori but that one looks like it's been rode hard. It looks a little dodgy.

So next question, is this a good combo? The YS 91 with this pipe?

I dont think that is an SB16 as it would have a 4 bolt flange,I have two of them.
More likly a SB-70,two peice setup for YS 60/70.

Its not the right pipe for a YS91st,the SB16 was the one in its day.

At this moment it occurs to me... How hard would it be for Hatori to mark the model number on their pipe. Really. They all look 95% the same but are supposedly tuned to a specific engine. As soon as I take one out of the box and set it on the bench, I can't remember which is which.

Come on. Let throw some technology at this and etch the model number on 'em some where...

SB-16 FH is the bolt on header I believe.

The 80-90 pipe has only 1 weld in the back part(I have one still). The 16 has 2 welds like pictured above.

It sure would be nice if Hatori did stamp, engrave, write something on there pipes to say what they are.
