I want to liven up my Caliber30. Can I take the weight out of the paddles. That should make it roll and flip quicker?

Back when I flew mine, I removed the weights. It made some difference, but not a night and day difference.

The paddles themselves are still pretty beefy without the weights. Maybe try some paddles that are lighter overall. The best improvement I ever made to my Caliber 30s was to replace them with Trex 600's....

I did the very same thing. I still have the Caliber30, you helped me a lot with it through RunRyder. Still run good but it is a entry level machine, barely. I wish I would have gotten A Align 600 right off the bat, live and learn.

600 Align Pro
55 OS Max
Align Gyro
Youngblood blades
Govener,(Republican, of course)
Voltage Regulator
Futaba 7C 2.4 ghz
remote glow

Love it.

Now tell me professer, what tricks have you done to your 600.

I have a set of Quick paddles on mine and it made it quicker than the OS32 can handle! I still fly it alot as it is very fuel efficient and fun.

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

One is pretty much out of the box stock. I dumped the plastic grips on both of my 600's early on and went to the CNC versions. I replaced the elevator control with the "A-arm" upgrade later on.

This past winter, I removed the flybar from one of them and made it flybarless with a 3GX controller and Align head. This one still has a the OS 50 SX-H and Muscle pipe (can't remember if it's an MP2 or MP5 off-hand). I'm debating whether I need to switch out the MP for a better pipe. All things considered, that 50 still hauls the mail pretty well for a ten-year old motor. A new set of bearings every year has kept it running great. I did have one of the wrist pin retainers pop out of its groove in flight a few years back, so it got a new ring, piston, and cylinder, too.

The other 600N still has its flybar and has an OS 50 SX-Hyper, with an MP5 on it. I think it could use a better muffler, as well.

Both have CYE Radix 600's, I like them much more than the Mavrikk G5-Pro wide chords. I added Model Avionics Throttle Max governors a few years back as well.

What really sucks is the weather here has been just plain un-heli friendly for what seems like forever...winds in the 25-30 mph range almost all spring. If that isn't bad enough, I've been hampered by a nasty ruptured disc in my lower spine for a couple of months, making flying something less than enjoyable. This is looking to be a lost summer for me when it comes to flying.
