Just getting into the B450 after starting on a 120SR and then an mCPx.

Bob Wales has been helping me out up at the RC Propbusters field...and last weekend trimmed it out a bit. I wobbled around in the wind for a few minutes and then quit for the day.

This week I ditched the blade training gear and made some of my own from dowel, pvc, epoxy and wiffle golf balls. Holy crap! What a difference.

I hovered my first full pack. Kept it under control and only had to touch down twice.

Feels like progress! (had to share)

Did two more packs after that. It's amazing how much more docile this feels compared to the mCPx.

I was scared ****less of this bird until today. Now I can lift it up and fly it.

Way f'in cool.

you will be surprised how much more steady a larger bird is. I can still remember how awesome I felt after my first few flights with a big bird.

Congrats. It only get better from here

3 more packs today...with a bit of a breeze. I managed to get some really solid hover stability. Up to 3 minutes without needing to touch down. Lift off is getting much easier.

The hardest part most say is breaking out of the 5 to 10 foot hover. I got so attached to it and after 2 months a friend said.." turn right and go forward, what's the worst that can happen, you crash and we have to fix it?" So, from then on, the hovering became like riding a bicycle. Two years later and one crash, hundreds of sim hours, I have put $6000.00 in this hobby. Best of luck to you, one day it will just happen, welcome to rotary wing rc.

I think the training gear's going to come off this weekend.

I have a set of Trex 500 skids. I might put those on for a while as a little tip-insurance for a while.
