I have a strange clicking noise coming from my tail belt while in flight. It sounds like the belt wants to lock its self up but my belt tension is fine not loose at all has anyone else had this problem.

I have seen this happen when the belt is double twisted instead on one twist to make the tail turn the right direction.

If that does not cure it, i would pull out the auto hub, remove all grease and apply a light oil.

Things to check. The hub like mentioned above. Make sure that the main gear has all the teeth. A chiped tooth can make a weird noise sometimes.
The tail belt pully in the tail box can be putting to much side load on the bearings creating a clicking noise. File down the pully or add some shims to space out the bearings from the belt pully a bit.
Check idler pullys to make sure the bearings are free also.

Hope this helps.

Make sure the bolt and lock nut installing the idler pully on the tail gearbox is not to tight. If its to tight it will not spin and adds tons of drag on the belt. The belt will try to grab the stuck pully and jump a little making a click or a ping sound.

I too would double check everything stated above. Especially the double twist in the belt option. I did this on accident when I first built my N5c. When you turn the main rotor by hand, does it feel like there's a bit of drag on it? Mine did and although I could have sworn that I installed the belt right I did have a double twist after I broke down and tore it apart.

Thanks guys i found the problem my belt had a little to much slack in it and it was hitting its self inside the tail boom.I thought it was tight and it felt good when i checked it but after inspecting it it was alittle loose.
