Anyone ran into a problem getting a DX8 to bind with a AR7200BX?

New setup on a Trex450 and when I install the bind plug in the AR7200BX "H" flashes indicating it is in the bind mode for the receiver. Hold the bind button on the DX8 and power up and the flashing "H" continues to flash on the receiver, and the transmitter shows that it has binded. The receiver should stop flashing and go solid, as I understand it.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks!

I had the same problem,..messed around with it for a week.
finally looked inside ,and one of the antenna co-ax was touching the RF module..
fixed that with a patch of tape and all worked fine afterwards..

Another thing I've found with my DX8 is to make sure you're not too close to the receiver when binding. Get several meters away.

Thanks for the idea Roger. I gave it several tries both within a few millimeters and up to about 5 meters and a few times in between with no luck.

I kind of hate openning it up after just buying it last weekend.

This afternoon I called Horizon Hobby and after a pretty good wait talked with a rep. that said it needs to be looked at by their service techs. I hate the fact I have to go through this with a brand new unit, but not near as much if I lost a heli from it I guess...

Thanks for the ideas!

I had a problem binding my 7200bx to my 9303 and it turned out to be the battery I was using was bad. I had just charged it and it had the power to light the lights, but not to bind. Unlikely to be your problem, but if you haven't tried a known good battery, you could give it a try.

Thanks for the idea. I did try two different batteries, one of which is only a month old with no luck.

New AR7200BX working fine!
Finally got the chance to get up to my local hobby shop today and let them take a stab at binding the AR7200BX. After a couple of tries they pulled a new AR7200BX from the shelf and gave it a try.
Binded on the first try and is working great!
The owner Mark said it was the first defective unit they had, and helped with the initial setup along with giving me a few ideas for setup.
Now on to setting up my FBL conversion...

Make certain that if you use a satellite RX with the AR7200BX that the satellite is a DSMx version. Do NOT use a DSM2 satellite.

A satellite is NOT required for the RX to work but it is recommended for helis larger than 450 size.
