My aileron bellcranks will hit the main gear while applying full negative collective. I can only get -5 deg. with the bellcranks not hitting. Can I just adjust the bell mixer to swashplate rod to allow for more negative pitch.
thanks
Jeff

Jeff,

the answer is yes, but first adjust the Linkage from your Collective Servo to the Pitch Arm to make sure the Pitch Arm is level when the Throttle Stick is at Half Throttle and the Pitch Curve is at 50%,
when I say the Pitch Arm needs to be level I mean the center of the 3 Bolts on the side of the Pitch Arm should be level and all 3 in a line,

after the Pitch Arm is leveled, adjust the Linkage up to the Swash, keep in mind, that, when the Cyclic Stick is centered you want all Arms and all Bellcranks level, this include the Bellmixers and Swash too,

and once in the Air if you find your heli Pitches up or down in Fast Forward flight you may have to adjust the linkage up to the Swash, or you could add Mixing to the Forward Cyclic

note Collective Servo Arm> the Collective Servo Arm should pretty much point straight up when the Throttle Stick is at Half Throttle and the Pitch Curve is at 50%, the Servo Arm is somewhat hard to set prefect because the Linkage is set on a slight angle, this may give you a bit different Pitch reading between full Positive and full Negative, you can offset the Arm just a bit or use Sub Trim a bit to get the Pitch close at both Positive and Negative, then use End Points on the Pitch Curve to get them equal

hope I have helped

I got looking at it closer tonight and found that I had the aileron servo wheel reversed so that the ball links were on the back side of the wheel instead of the front which pitched the bellcranks backwards throwing everything out. I just now reversed the wheel and the pivot arm should level out nicely with maybe a blade pitch reading of about 5 deg. Should I then adjust the linkage up to the blades to zero out the pitch?
I pretty much totalled this heli last year. I had to do alot of frame bending and new parts to get back flying. What is kindof scary is I flew it like this several times this year on my old radio. I am switching it over to my new 8fg and found all these issues with setting it up for the new radio.
thanks
Jeff

Aileron Servo Wheel> in the first link below it show how your Servo Balls and Linkage should be attached to the Aileron Servo Wheel,

0 degrees of Pitch> when the Throttle Stick is Centered/and the Pitch Curve is at 50% and the Pitch Arm is level you should set all Linkages so the Bellcranks and Swash are level, then set all Linkages to the Bell Mixers so you have 0 Degrees of Pitch,

Aileron Servo Wheel,,

Falcon's Manual,,

get that set then we will talk about seting the Throttle/Pitch Curves for Hovering

thanks for the help
I got the basics set up tonight, I had to adjust several arms to get the right bellcrank angle and swash position. Next will be a good curve adjustements for normal, idle1 and idle 2. I have rays heli book I am using for all the curves.

I don't know anything about Ray's book, just know it was written a long time ago, and things may be different today

the old way is to hover at half Throttle, it calls for more Curve adjustment,, today most flyers setup to hover at 2/3 Throttle, this calls for less Curve adjustment
