Once upon a time there were tube shaped batteries called Nicad and Nimh. I ordered some from ebay and they came in a plastic box that held four. I never threw the boxes away because I might need them in the future, and I did. I cut out the plastic battery separators on the inside of the box and lined it with foam. They hold six 300mah batteries just fine.

Just thought I'd share.
