I'm thinking of purchasing the Aerodyne Bell UH-1B fues.
I'll be using my Trex 600E mechanics in it.
Has anyone built this particular fuse? Are there any issues with the up swept tail rotor system? Is this belt drive system very dependable.
Also does this model leave much room for a scale cockpit up front?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have a 450 version of this heli by Wing Wing. Photo below. It has a belt drive and is a pain to install and remove the mechanics from the fuselage. Just think about what has to be disassembled, reassembled and how you'll tighten the belt once installed.

Use a Torque Tube tail drive and you'll never look back.

It's a great flying heli and looks super on the ground and in the air.

Have fun on the build and flying it.

This hobby is WAY too expensive!!

I have that RCA 800 size huey. Check in my gallery. I also have a build thread on it and the vario 1100 D model in the docs section.

All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

This heli was made and configured specifically for 600 size electric mechanics.(ITEM ID # TFUH1MIL6)
I have the 600 size with an "Align" 600ESP. I have had no issues with the tail drive system going on 2 years now. The kit comes with a set of metal side frames in order to reduce the height of the mechanics. This makes for a nice fit into the heli.
It also comes with a long belt for the tail drive.
I would recommend you also pickup the "Aerodyne" "short tail rotor case" (ITEM ID #TFGB-6). This makes for a much nicer tail appearance than using the stock "Align" tail case.
As to the cockpit. I installed a full cockpit with seats and pilot.
Cockpit from "Flying Season Models" (item # PROUH50). Along with windshield wipers, door handles (front and sliding) (Aerodyne pt#v30/34)and Pilot
"Andreas" (pt#v1/13) (190mm).
The kit also includes hinges for the two front doors.
I really need to up-date my gallery
I hope this is of some small help.
Regards

Wish they would get the TT versions back in stock. Good luck with this one. Should be a nice project.

UH-1 Build
I have built both the 450 size and the 800 size...the 800 size has been sitting because they have not been able to get me a front lower windscreen!!! But I will get back to it one of these days!!!! It is a great looking machine, and it does fly really well, and I am using the belt drive.. if you look through my gallery, you will see a LOT of pics taken during the build with the belt set up.. it is a bit tricky to get set up, but nothing really bad, and there are no problems with any slipping or anything.. my hs on the heli is 1150 to 1200 with 800mm NHP blades....sorry about the little Airwolf in the middle of the build pics!!!! I gotta straighten my gallery back out.... maybe a good rainy day project!!!!
Good Luck with your project, it will make a very nice looking heli...
