i can understand using the "ignored" feature for alot of reasons such as harasment, trolls, or even just very rude people but how many of you have used it just because you didn't like something someone had said ???

to me that shows very poor form, AND when done in the middle of a discussion with other members is just plain RUDE !

I prefer not to use it. If they troll enough, they will eventually get the boot.

My ignore list is for trolls or members that post nothing but pure junk. In the several years I've been here only two members made the list....

you to ?!? lol

When it comes to the "ignored" feature i just feel that if you put someone on it just because of something they said that you didn't like or agree with is pretty spineless and in a way is a misuse of this tool, heck if i went around putting everybody that said something that i didn't like or agree with well lets just say that would be alot of people, now all those people can not comment on any threads i make so in that way it's a form of censership but what's even worst than that is it allows anyone who does this to make a thread and then spew nonsense completely unchallenged by anyone that knows better or at the very least by someone who has a different view point, i ask when used in this way how can that ever be a good thing ?

I was actually on his ignore list before he went on mine. He didn't like me posting truth on his threads.

I've had those 2 on my list as well.

I think RR should default those 2 onto everyone's ignore lists.

Sounds awfully familiar. I'm sure we have the same crazy person on our ignore lists.

why would you want esco and wc on your ignore list? as far as i know i have nobody on ignore unless its by accident.

the stuff they come out with is either absolute comic gold or hurts your head trying to figure out what they mean, either way i get a laugh out of them.

if you want serious trolling check out some of the MMA forums, best internet trolling you will ever see.

I never use any ignore features. It's actually more entertaining to see the name calling and tantrums out in the open and just ignore the plaintiff "manually" - sometimes 2-year-old behavior is good fun to watch, especially when the victim thinks he's actually being intelligent and mature. I'm still getting called names online by one of our less intellectually advanced members and it's still fun sometimes.

I'm _on_ a lot of /ignore lists, however, because I make no bones about telling the truth as I see it and some don't like hearing the truth put in a frank manner. That only bothered me in one case because I couldn't get some information that I needed. Else, that doesn't matter too much to me and I generally expect it from the less grown-up members.
