Converting raptor 90 to FBL. I was going to use AR7200BX and RJX head. Now I'll be useing SK540. I did many searches but not much to read on it. If anyone has anything that could help no matter how small.

Thanks for any information and or help you can give.

EDIT useing SK540

Ohh i would love to love my 90 right now, but i need to replace the YS engine that i have in the bird. I am very interested in seeing what you come up with, with my 2nd job, i will be able to afford to upgrade my 90 this year.

I don't have your setup but running my Raptor90 SE with G-force fbl head and plain ole Align 3-G. Running 10degrees on cyclic and +/- 14 on collective. Running hs 7965mg's all around and bls 251 on tail. Flys great! Hope that helps some.

Pardon my input - but I am about 2 steps behind you in this process.

The Beast (7200BX) takes over control of the servos from the radio - correct?

So, my assumption is that you would want to have all of the mechanical throws (linkages, 90-degree angles & arm-lengths) set to 100% before you start with the BX

EG: If I program my TX so with my FB'ed SE so the 100% left aileron servo travel results in 9-degrees of left cyclic, then I am ready to move to FBL.
If I set 100% up collective servo travel to +13-degrees, then I am ready to move to FBL.

Obviously, I am talking about all surfaces (aileron, pitch & collective).

I would think this should result in mechanical gains that are in-line with when the controller expects.

When the BX says "Adjust collective to +10 degrees of collective", then you are getting 10 degrees and also the proper mechanical gain.

Are you flying a Raptor 90?

Yep, Raptor 90 SE. Sorry I'm unfamiliar with the BeastX system as far as setup goes. May try the flybarless systems page for answers to your question as well.

There is most likely a setup mode in the beastx in which to do all you have described. I would make sure you follow that procedure to the letter as well. Even though you set 10 degrees of cyclic in the setup you can tell the fbl system how fast you like the controls to react and then it uses what ever cyclic deflection it needs up to the max to give you that reaction. It's no longer like a fb helicopter where your cyclic inputs just deflect the swashplate. You are now simply telling the unit a direction and rate at which to pitch or roll. It then uses whatever amount of cyclic it needs to give you what you asked for. Hope that makes sense.

Here's some pics of mine:

Looks familiar.

Glad everything is still working for you, I need to get down there soon, but I just put my R90 in hard last weekend; got it all rebuilt but waiting for my electronics to get back from Futaba.

That's a nice flying machine! Mine was, it will be again.

Bummer dude! You can come fly mine. Need a professional to tweak my engine. Either that or it just needs a rebuild. Running great just seems to bog down very easily when it didn't used to.
I'm having fits with the Vbar on the X-50. Really frustrating not getting to fly it at all. Crashed it twice due to fbl systems acting up and almost 2 other times as well. Not seeing all the hype at the moment with the Vbar

My X50 with the CGY750 is amazing!

I should be able to make it down sometime soon or this summer. Planning on attending any fun flies or are there any near you coming up?

I have head and servos. Just waiting for controller and switch. I will clean, lube and or replace any bearings that might be worn. I want to be sure all vibrations are low.

I'm new to FBL so I hope all goes well.

The actual collective servo is a pass-through channel on most FBL controllers with mCCPM. I don't know what you mean when you said,
Outrage 9180 on pitch, align 610 on pitch and roll.
The elevator servo works the hardest on these machines with FBL. Only reason I'm concerned about your servos is because I didn't have a quality servo on my elevator channel and it burned out during flight and I couldn't pull out of a dive with it coming towards me, I had to put it in.

Be safe and have fun.

Correction Outrage will be on the collective.

Did you have 610 on yours?

No, I had an Ace DS1015; I didn't know at the time that they weren't any good for FBL on an mCCPM machine.

Waited for AR7200BX for a month and it never came so canceled order and found a really good deal on a SK540.

Does anyone have any advice for setting up Sk540 on the Raptor.

Thanks for any advice

I use the JR DS8711 on collective (Raptor 90 w/ SK540 FBL)
I use the JR DS8717 for pitch & roll.

Started going thru the wizards on SK540. Things are pretty straight forward. I am having to change servo ball measurements to get pitch and cyclic ranges to work out. Some things are different than the wizard due to Raptor single servo setup.
