Recently purchased one of these kits from Aerodyne.. Installing a T-rex 600 Nitro, in general its a good kit however , as with most fuselage kits. the instructions are lacking to say the least... MY question is, when mounting the Machine Gun/Rocket Launchers.... JUST where to I locate them.. Should the be centered near the CG, or where??

Thanks in advance !

Good question. I am building the same fuse and have yet to test fly the mechanics (soon). What I thought that I would do is once the mechanics are mounted, determine the best location based on photos and how they fit with the wood supports. Then remove the mechanics, mount the weapons pilons, paint the inside of the fuse, and remount the mechanics. That's the plan anyway.

An interesting note, while at my LHS lately, their scale "guru" suggested reinforcing the weapons pilons with aluminum or carbon fiber rods. He thinks that they are subject to a lot of force during hard flight manuvers, and/or if in a crash. I probably won't do that.

Not the 600 Little Bird, but this might be of help, if you don't have it already.

I have the Thunder Tiger version on a Raptor 50 and while the pylon mounting appears flimsy, yanking and banking has not effected them, whacking them on door frames or getting it out of the truck has been another matter...

"Yankin' an Bankin'" won't be an issue with the pods...or even guns...but as mentioned transporting will... I make my "Munitions" removable because in the past I have had to rebuild the mounts several times due to "Transport" damage... never from flight damage.

Most were mounted.. (on the prototype) with a bracket under the fuse... If you are talking about external stores... On the little bird very similar to how the Hueys did it... I'm not familiar with "That" particular Kit but they must have some bracketry included?
I have a "real" one... but unfornuatly no armament package with it.

Rocket pods would be hung between the legs on the gear. I'll see if I have any file pics of a Cayus with the pods..

You might want to rent the movie called "BlackHawk Down" as they had some of the newer Little Birds in there with the guns installed and some had troop seats.

On my 500 size LittlBird from RCA the mounts had a hole in each end and screws to the woodwork inside the fuse. I also added some epoxy after screwing them on to just be safe. I have pics in my gallery of them mounted if it helps you out.
