Okay so here is the situation. Bought a Velocity 50 kit, put it together, love it. I took all the running gear out of my FBL Raptor 50. I had the Outrage FBL head, OS 50H, Mav G5 Widechord 600s, align 610s and Beastx on the Raptor. The Raptor was heavier. I had about 16 degrees +- dialed in. It didn't bog much.

Same Gear on the Velo except I only dialed in 15 degrees +-. Main difference is I am running the included Outrage pipe, I had an old MP5 pipe on the Rappy. I have leaned it out three clicks because it was running rich but the bog is noticeably worse on the Velo.

Now the Rappy had an 8.5 to 1 gear ratio, the velo an 8.6 but it is taching out 100 rpm faster on headspeed on the velo. I was wondering if I should get the 8.8 gear but should I? Shouldn't the headspeed have been slower on the velo than the rappy or am I confused? Why would the same engine bog on a lighter helicopter with less pitch? I literally only changed the model name in the radio and reversed a channel or two, otherwise it's the same as the rappy. Is the Outrage pipe the problem?

Any thoughts besides buying a 55 would be appreciated.

Why don't you just put the mp5 pipe on it?

I mean if that's the only thing changed wouldnt that say something? I personally would run the mp5 it's just a great pipe however, I heard it runs like **** on ys engines.

I guess I could put the MP5 on it. I just figured the Outrage pipe was the better of the two.

It's all about the motor man. The mp5 simply is a powerhouse on o's engines where as the outrage pipe works wonders on ys. Who knows if that's not the solution for you well jump back to the drawing boards

I suppose it's as easy as two bolts. The Outrage pipe is the HR55 so I have to now wonder if it is meant more for the 55 size engines without much usefulness for 50 size engines.

Well that's a huge bit of info right there haha the outrage 55 pipe is designed for the os55hz-r and h models as well as the ys56 its probably just letting the engine breathe to much. I'd out the mp5 back on it. (mp5 looks cooler and sounds better in my opinion. My ys50 and outrage 50 pipe is so QUIET!)

Or
You can put a 55/56 motor on the pipe and be done with it. You will love the additional power.

Once you go 56, you'll never go back.

Thanks guys. I put the mp5 on and tried it out behind the house and it's much better, like it was on the Rappy but better cause of the lighter airframe. I'll hold onto the Outrage pipe for that 55 or 56 I'll inevitably get.

Yeah it flew pretty good just hated anything collective intensive like flying or climbing. Heck, My dumb arse forgot to put the thrust washers in the main grips and it vibed pretty bad on maiden but the Beastx still handled it. Just a bit of an aileron roll to the left. Now it is rock solid and thankfully has enough power. For now.
