Thinking of running life battery to FBL unit with no switch or reg? Is anyone else doing it and if so how did you set it up?

Is there any reason not to run it this way?

Thanks for any info. and or help.

Got a few of mine set up this way ; just plug the batt in and go !

As long as the servos can handle the voltage , ( and most can ) , it's all too easy .....

Did you use more than one Battery power input? I read that normal wires might not carry enough voltage for FBL systems. If you did how did you plug it all in?

im not runnning a life but i CAN tell you my experience with the wires. A regular servo wire tops out a 6 amps max. I used to run a align 2n1 which only gave you one lead(6 amps) i was running everything off that due to running my fbl machine on just satellites. They kept browning out and come to find out i was maxing the load on the one wire pulling more then 6amps. I know have a SG reactor X2 which gives me 2 power leads giving me 12 amps cont. and i havent had a blinking sattilite since.

wifeorheli, a servo connector is closer to 3A continuous versus 6A.
So I always run two power leads into FBL systems.

I am a big fan of the Perfect Regulators failsafe switches.
I run LiFePo4 packs to the switch, then run the two leads out to my AR7200BX.

If you run all servos at same voltage, this one is great http://www.perfectregulators.com/in...t&product_id=82

If you want to step the tail (or tail and throttle) down, I use this one http://www.perfectregulators.com/in...7&product_id=76

Direct connection
I use the 7200BX in my TREX 450. I use the BEC in the ESC to power this heli and have had no problems to date.

For my 700E I use a Futaba Sbus RX with a normal BeastX. For this I use a power connection at the receiver and a power connection to the BeastX. Of course I tie the BeastX to the RX with the sbus connection. These power cables are soldered in parallel to a Deans connector. I plug the deans connector directly into a 1000 mah battery and go fly. I change the battery with each flight pack.

Make sure your servos are up to the voltage.

No,No..The other left!

I have the perfect regulator on my vibe 50 it works great. no problems with it at all.

The perfect switch would stop me from having to unplug the battery everytime I'm out of fuel and give me two power inputs to FBL unit.

I use a Fromeco LiFe battery (2300mAh) connected via a dual pig-tail Perfect Regulators soft switch.

No issues with several models, several FBL units and brands of servos.

All with Spektrum and/or JR radios.
