I know this has been discussed on numerous threads, but thought maybe someone modded (spelling) their radio. Here it goes: Love the radio, but the antenna breaking every 6 months is getting real old. It just breaks from wear, I have never dropped it. Sending it back to HH is a huge pain. I am actually thinking of going with the DX18 because of the attend design. Freakin aye, feel better

I have one of the first production 11x's in the country and i'm on the original antenna.

The only mod I've done is to buy a case.

Original antenna here too, no problems at all. I guess some people are just harder on their radio's than others.

I bought my first here in RR in October 2010 and the second in March of 2011. Neither has had antenna problems. I do keep them in separate aluminum cases.

This hobby is WAY too expensive!!

If they sit up against the antenna in your case,OR you allow them to bounce around in a case ,OR no case at all may be a problem. I have also had mine about a year with no problem.

Mine broke when fairly new, a few pieces of CF on either side and it has never broken again.

Maybe you chaps should try to carry the TX by the handle and NOT the Antenna
Sorry I could not resist that
Yip it must be a pain if you want to fly and that happens to you and thus forces you not to carry on flying for the day. Maybe if enough people moan about this problem on all the forums then JR would look into this problem. JR can NOT afford to get negative feedback like this as they are now only starting to recover from the split between them and Spektrum.

I just hope you can sort it out promptly and start to enjoy your flying once more..... Good luck and Happy flying

My 12X antenna broke almost right away. This was due to a piece of foam in the top of the transmitter case. I removed the foam from the case and have not had a problem, since.

I have never had an issue with the 11X antenna, and it was purchased the day they came out in So Cal.

I agree with the 11X being a great radio. I have had mine over a year now and never any problems . The antenna is nothing but a plastic housing for a little wire antenna to terminate in,so you must no put much pressure on it.

I think the antenna is a dipole antenna etched on a pcb. There again, that might be the XG series antennas.... can't remember
