Well, after spending almost $2000 on this unit, http://shop.aerodron.ch/index.php/c...-4-mk-octo.html , all I can say is that AEROdron is NOT A COMPANY TO BELIEVE IN....... NO PRODUCT SUPPORT!!! They advertise a quick start manual and warranty info but DO NOT INCLUDE WITH PRODUCT as advertised. They have ignored three request for help. NON-RESPONSIVE!

Following recommendations from suppliers and vendors, the AEROdrive 8 failed after hovering for only 12 minutes under load.

AEROdron has not replied to my inquires about what to do about it and remain NON-RESPONSIVE! They won't even tell me what the LED errors indicate.

Story here, http://www.multirotorforums.com/sho...e-8-Crash-Video This link is to serve as a warning to others and NOT as a commercial link.

Yes, I have posted this on other forums and will continue to do so until AEROdron supports the product as advertised.

The beatings will continue until morale improves...

Interesting what you have going on.
I looked at your link and noticed that it has blocked Motors, power limitater, etc.
I have been around R/C stuff for a long time an not to throw you under the bus but i have made a lot of mistake's along the way.

This stuff we are playing with seams to always go that way sometime's.
I am not a big fan of the Mikrocopter BL-CTRL 2.0 CPU // You can not pull more than about 7 amps per motor on a MK Octo before you smoke the board.

Seams to me there should of been some sort of instruction for setting it up and also for the lights during setup.

How do you know it was properly setup before you put it up in the air.
Did you do any sort of bench test and or load test before you flew it.

What are they saying could of been wrong.

I have heard plenty of people having issues with those motors and the Aerodrive 8 board. Seems more like a problem when paired to those motors. Not really sure it is the Aerodrive 8 board alone that has the problem, but more so a conflict with those motors.

The products are not really what is in question here. I think individually that the components are great products and works just fine.

The issue is the recommendations from the vendors and Beta Testers are WRONG! Bottom line here is that a Pletty 15-20 motor, with the RECOMMENDED 14 0r 15 inch prop, draws more than 40 amps. That is why the AEROdrive 8 failed. Not because the Plettys are faulty.

Pletty says to not exceed a 13x5 prop to keep the draw at or below the 40 amps. Guys that used other brands not only smoked the AEROdrive but the motors as well. The Plettys took 60 amps with a 14x4.7 APC and are fine.

My purpose in this TOPIC is simply to WARN others of the very poor product support from AEROdron, makers of the AEROdrive 8. They continue to avoid the issue and still recommend over-propping the Pletty 15-20. They tell you to fly with that set up knowing that it will kill the $1800 speed controller and then do nothing except skate around the real issue of BAD MARKETING, BAD PRODUCT SUPPORT, and overall HORRIBLE BUSINESS ETHICS.

The link is to the ongoing discussions with most info and responses from AEROdron. Read it and you decide.THANK YOU Run Ryder for not disabling the link. The AEROdrive is absolutely the most expensive BLC on the market. Potential customers need to know what is going on. I only bought one but others have several on hand and stand to lose far more than myself.

Still, AEROdron is refusing to accept responsibility for their bad advice, marketing, and business practices. I'm not the only one to have crashed as a result of following the manufactures advice.

I recommend that potential customers follow the link provided before you purchase their product.
